For some reason, last night's show felt like a better show than previous episodes. I think it's because there wasn't the Matt/Harriet specter hovering over the whole damn thing. Parts of it kinda blew, yes, but it didn't annoy me as much this week.

I gave this show a third and last viewing last night and was bored to death. I wish they'd cancel it already.

It may not be definite, but it's not super-unexpected - it loses half the audience of Heroes, including the all-important 18-49 demo. Plus, the show must cost a fortune, given the cast and Sorkin, not to mention all the money spent on promotion. I don't care how "stupid" the American public is for not spending more time watching Strindberg than watching Deal or No Deal - it takes a special kind of "stupid" to take a tired-and-true concept like behind-the-scenes Hollywood dirt*, a setting that's perfect for dark, comic satire (as well as interesting drama) and drain it of almost all that makes it inherently entertaining. *Related but semi-O/T but which, FX's upcoming Dirt w/ Courtney Cox should be hella interesting. On that note, Matthew was allegedly so worried about the ratings that he personally asked his Friends costars to cameo on the show - and everyone refused.

All while explaining constantly just how funny and important it is. Not showing, just...explaining.

All while explaining constantly just how funny and important it is. Not showing, just...explaining. Sigh. Personally I want the above pounded into Sorkin's head. Because it's totally true. But I really like Perry and Whitford and want to continue watching them, so I hope S60 gets another chance.
