That back up QB couldn't throw a ball 10 yards. At least, hire someone with some QB skills.
That was the quickest neck/spine surgery along with attaching a halo in the history of man.

I liked the movie a lot and I liked the pilot as well.
I can't imagine the pressure real life high school footballers must endure in places like West Texas. It's like a religion there or something.

I liked the movie and the book- the show was dead boring to me.

I'm a born and raised Texan, and love football, and loved this show (along with the book and the movie). I was crying at the end because I'm a total sap. However, I'm really curious as to whether other people that aren't Texans who like football would even care about this show. There doesn't seem to be alot of responses here, so I take that as a no?

I LOVED the show, but then again I do love most sports.
And the boys are pretty.

I watched it because nothing else was on. I loved the book and thought the movie was so-so, so I figured the TV program would be sub-par to the movie. To my surprise, I liked it a lot. I loved the music in the show and I hope they keep up with music in the same vein. It also made me tear up at the end. I think living in Texas and knowing it is filmed nearby *is* part of the attraction, for me anyway. Heck, I watched the whole season of "Joe Millionaire" just cos the guy was a rodeo cowboy and I was on a huge bullriding kick for a while.
Okay, I have no idea why I just admitted that!

I tivoed and am watching it now. I lived in Texas briefly and hate football but the show interests me for the zoo quality of it. Watching this lifestyle is so weird for me. I have never in my life (including high school) attended a school with a football team so the idea of people in a town (like the mayor) giving a shit about high school football is something I can barely wrap my head around. The characters are interesting to me and I might watch it to see how everything unfolds. But I wish they'd sum up these games quicker. Do football fans even like watching a fake TV acted football game?

Why isn't this on Friday nights? Seems like an obvious marketing strategy.

Why isn't this on Friday nights? Seems like an obvious marketing strategy. You, too? Maybe they thought that there wouldn't be enough people to watch it on such a tricky night for ratings. I'll have to catch it next week and see if it's a decent show to Tivo.

Why isn't this on Friday nights? Because on Friday nights the core demographic for this show are likely to be at actual local high school football games. Maybe it'll get moved to Friday in the spring time.
