So I started watching this show on Netflix Watch Instantly and I'm halfway through the first season and now I have to wait until Nov 5 to reset all my hours 'cause I used them all! Damn it. I'll just go and rent the damn thing now. ;D
As someone who didn't go to high school in US and knows next to nothing about American football, nor is interested to learn anything, I am loving this show! Well the high school drama is pretty universal and it reminds me so much of my teen years. I have to disagree on the good acting all around though. That girl Lyla, or whoever plays her, is one of the worst actresses around. I mean, compared to her, Jessica Alba should get a freakin' Oscar. Really, when she sobs or is all dramatic I want to punch her in the face. She's a very very pretty girl but such bad actress.Arghhh!
Oh, Tim is definitely the hottest guy in the room and were I still in high school I'd totally be in love with him. But I'm older and wiser, and I love Matt. Matt Matt, mumbling, shy Matt. Love him and Julie.

Plush, I'm in total agreement. I can't stand Lyla, nor Minka Kelly. Her voice, that high pitched baby voice, drives me nuts! I have to admit though, I'm looking forward to a Lyla/Tim reunion (I'm just guessing here). Should be steamy. Although Tim could have sex with just about anyone on this show and it would be steamy.

I'll be the only one who doesn't care for Tim and Lyla and sees no more chemistry between them than between Tim and a tree in a park. I mean Tim could be making out with whomever, including a tree, ;D and would still be hot because the guy makes it look hot. I just think the whole bad boy who falls for Miss Perfect is such a tiresome cliche and I wish they'd get rid of it.

Tonight's episode rocked! This was the show I fell in love with last year. I'm kicking myself for missing the first 20 minutes, but I can only use so many excuses when trying to leave early for drinks.
First off, this episode was so good, that by the time I noticed the music in the episode, it was in the last scene with Lyla, Tim and Jason. I think a large part of why I noticed the music was I was thinking if a threesome was about to start with them, they had chosen the perfect background music to get it going. The fact that it took me so long to notice the music means I was actually paying close attention to the storyline.
Secondly, yay for Matt standing up to Julie! I would like for them to get back together, but Matt needed to show a spine and not just get weak-kneed every time Julie came around or said something. Aimee Teegarden is becoming a better actress because I think I made that face numerous times in high school when I realized I f*cked up on something and wanted to cry about it, but knew I shouldn't. And Matt looked hot walking away from her.
I love Landry, but the Landy chanting? I think it was a bit too soon, but I guess it might be different for small towns that are avid fans of high school football. I love that Coach Taylor still continued to call him Lance! Hee!
As for next week, glad to see the murder storyline isn't over.

Last night's episode was fantastic!
I think I cried at least three times; when Jason "fell" off the boat, when Tim and Jason were talking on the beach and when Landry did so well at the game.
The storyline with Eric and Tammy was excellent as well, and very true to life. I told my husband the doctor said 6 months, not that he believed it.

Damn this show is great! Just when I was starting to doubt it, it pulls me back in.
Go Matt for telling Julie off!
Go Coach and Tammy. They are definitly one of the best depictions of a married couple I have ever seen.
Tyra and Landry broke my heart. Is it wrong that I love them?
Tim and Jason were great. The ILY speech made me cry.
That final scene with them at the bar...Wow! HOT! I needed to go pray too. Tim/Tyra are really, really hot while Jason/Tyra bring the sweetness.

I can't be the only viewer who burst out laughing when Lyla said she had to go pray. I can't. That was too damn funny. As if prayer would help her immediately after kissing two different guys, each in front of the other.
I'm going to be laughing about that line for months.

This show kills me or actually, Jason Street kills me. Coach Taylor's line to Jason, "You lift everyone up" (or something like that) opened up the faucet in my eyes. You basically know that Jason will end up as a coach eventually, but you also know he has to try other things and he'll find his way back to football somehow.
Landry's dad is just as stupid as the storyline! Can the storyline get any worse? If you're going to burn a car, you burn it in a place you know that no one will find it, not to a place where 20 other people had the same bright idea as you and left their car. Also, Dillon's a small town, aren't people going to start wondering what happened to Landry's car? I don't know how they're ever going to redeem this plot. They can't actually let them get away with the murder, but I also can't think of a way (a realistic way) that they'll get caught and not get in trouble for it. Have they even found the watch Landry lost?
I'm not familiar with how coaches get paid, but i always thought it was through the school or district at least? Is it really through the booster club? What about those unpopular sports like in the case of Dillon, the girls soccer team? Does that mean that coach doesn't get paid at all?
And it must be said, but Riggins was looking all kinds of hot this episode.

Oh, same here. I swear I can't get through an episode without crying and I thought I was home free but Street always kills me. That was a wonderful scene.
The Landry storyline just doesn't bother me at all. Plemmons (sp?) is a really great actor and really sells the part. He and Morshower (sp?) really look like they could be father and son. They play really well off each other. People do stupid/wrong things and then those things spiral out of control (disclaimer: I'm not defending the act). His father is trying to protect his son and probably isn't thinking straight himself. I don't know, the storyline just doesn't bother me. But I do hope it wraps up soon and we can have some of S1 Landry back.

GREAT episode last night. I just can't find one thing that bothers me about this show, I love everything.
Tammy and her sister were such a treat. I could see them being sisters in real life.
Nice to see Julie and Tyra together. I really enjoyed their friendship last season and I'm glad we get to see it again.
I was worried about the introduction of Santiago, but so far, so good. I liked seeing Tim mentor him.
Lauren didn't bug as much as I thought. Matt needs to move on from Julie for a while, because I do want them together in the end and she seems like a sweet girl. But damn that actress has HUGE gums! [/shallow]
I liked Smash reaching out to Tim. Hopefully he will get his shit together and be back on the team soon.
I agree with everyone about Coach and Jason's talk, it really did bring tears to me eyes. Eventhough Jason is paralized, he does lift everyone up.
God, I love this show! My best friend's BDay was last week and I bought him the S1 DVD's and he's hooked...So yay! for a newbie fan!
