Didn't see a thread yet. So, T-Minus one week before the inevitable Studio 60/30 Rock rumble. The ads for this are hysterical: Jane on crazy Tracy: "No way I am working with that guy - he once bit Dakota Fanning on the face!" - Tina (deadpan as usual): "When you hear his version, she was kinda asking for it." Isn't she always, though? And yeah, I don't care how old and bloated and a total a-hole he is, I would so do Alec Baldwin. He's turned into one of the best comedians around.

I've already got it set on my ti-faux. Although I am curious--is Rachel Dratch not in this anymore? The early previews all featured her and no Jane Krakowski and now Jane is everywhere but no Rachel Dratch?

I thought I read that she was let go (and her part possibly recast). I feel badly for her if that is the case since she left SNL for this, didn't she?
I am very excited for this show though.

I think Rachel is still in it, in smaller part(s?).
The original "part" was recast with Krakowiski. The "official story" is that the show-within-a-show has been greatly reduced - per EW, here's Tina Fey - "Once it became clear that we'll never see any sketch comedy, that role changed. [Now] it's a straight acting part."
Cutting down on the show-within-a-show is very smart, IMHO, because that seems to be somewhat of Studio 60's achilles heel. The way the shows set it up, the sketches of the show-within-the-show almost have to be better (or funnier) than the show itself.

YouTube has a clip from the pilot up. Alec Baldwin is fantastic. Also a clip from the second episode. And a behind the scenes clip. Looks good!

I'm about 3 minutes in and they're getting right into the funny.
One dirty freaky Caucasian writer to the uptight African American writer: "Are there other black nerds or is it just you and Urkel."
I thought it was funny, but then maybe *PrincessFooFooMcFuckstickWondersparkle* has warped my fragile little mind.[/cartman]

I'm excited - they're reairing the pilot and second episode on Bravo, so I don't have to make the Top Model/30 Rock choice. Yay!

I saw it last night (up here in Canada) and liked it a lot. Alec Baldwin is hilarious.

"Don't buy all the hotdogs."
I love frankfurter analogies!

Fuckin' hilarious. I was this show's bitch as soon as Tina Fey proclaimed she was buying all the hot dogs and giving them to the good people.
And I figured Alec Baldwin's GE Tri-Vection oven was a fake product (sounds too good to be true and it has a cheesy name!) until they aired a commercial for the real thing during the break!
