I am so glad this show is doing well. I also have a small Jack McBrayer (the page) connection-- I interviewed him for a story. He's from the town I work in, and he was an absolute doll to deal with. No pretenses whatsoever, plus he was genuinely funny in the interview.

iTunes is offering a free episode (the blind date one) "for a limited time." Does it make the switch to Thursday this week or next?

It made the switch to Thursday tonight - err, last night - and then joined by Scrubs two weeks from now. (And YAY, it looks like I can juggle my TiVo perfectly since Grey's is on Fridays as well...) Alec just dissed Strindberg -- oh, *snap*, Sorkin. Because, really, try as you might, sketch comedy is ultimately no more than "making fun of the president between car commercials." Gaybraham Lincoln. Way funnier than it should be. My favorite was the escalating "Muffin Top" song/jokes. "Jenna and Ghostface Killa to the stage for Muffin Top." "Jenna, Ghostface Killa and Yo-Yo Ma to the stage for Muffin Top." Then, OMG, the actual lyrics (and performance featuring Ghostface Killa)? Priceless. Such a spot-on parody of Milkshake, London Bridge, etc. - where something completely random has been made a sexual euphemisim. Tracey, as usual, is hysterical and crazy. I love how the worst part of being illiterate is voting for Nader. Oh, Tina, first you smack down Paris Hilton and now you deliver a solid 30ish minutes of comedy. This is why I love you.

Tracy Morgan has completely grown on me. "I sign my name with an X!" Fantastic.

Something about that crossword puzzle filled with smiley faces just tickled me pink.

I didn't like Tracy at first, but he's grown on me.
Hey glitzee, do you remember any of the funny bits with Jack McBrayer?

Sadly, it tanked in the ratings on its first Thursday outing. I will cry if this show gets cancelled. Make all your friends watch it!

I thought that Miss Fey wrote mostly crap on SNL and I was not enamoured of her newsanchor personnae (is that the fae spelling of it?) either. Tracee Morgan was interesting but never used much or used all that well on SNL.
But on this show? Miss Fey is well cast and holds her own---but then she is playing against Mr. Baldwin and he makes everyone look good. And Mr. Morgan is funny and sly and just slightly out of whack. He was always a bit "fey" (in the faerie sense---dear Earth Mother Brigid---now I am being infected by this Celtic craziness on this board) as a comedian---remember those Moon Visit sketches that he was always in on SNL?
The writing is just as good as The Office and sometimes better. I am a big fan of all out nonsense. Alas, Arrested Development!
Miss Fey, you were awful on SNL but you are awfully good here. I guess venue does mean something.

Sadly, it tanked in the ratings on its first Thursday outing. No, no, no!!! I looooove this show. The one good thing is that, from my recollection, S1 of The Office did pretty bad in the ratings, too and NBC did renew it for another season and then it pretty much took off. I have to hold out hope that they'll stick with this show through next year, too.

They ordered a full season of Studio 60 - if they keep that thing and dump this one, I'll be so pissed. Of the two shows about doing comedy sketch shows, this one is much, much better.
