I had no idea there were rumors of McNulty committing suicide. He is way too self-absorbed for that. I called him being a scapegoat but wasn't quite sure how'd they do it. I'm glad he didn't lose everything (Beadie's still putting up with him at home) although clearly he's gotta work out his next career (maybe a PI? It works for all the main characters in detective novels). Yeah, someone claimed to have gotten a hold of "spoilers" most of them were correct, Omar being killed by Kennard, Chris getting life without parole, Michael killing Snoop, (though in the rumor Chris was supposed to be in the same scene) but some of them weren't, like McNulty blowing his brains out and his friends making it look like an accident.

Carver is hot, and has turned into a fine detective. I just love pretty much everyone who has ever been on The Wire. Personally, I'll always have a special place in my heart for crazy ass WeeBey, who was just all kinds of awesome. One of my favorite scenes is his snort and look of disgust after being told there was no more potato salad, but he could get cole slaw; this of course was after he confessed to multiple murders, and agreed to confess to more for another sandwich and some potato salad. Man I love this show. I just started watching this show and this was my favourite moment of the season. I've just started on S2, I've tried to be careful on what I read in this thread, but its cool to see that you all rate all the seasons. Good times to come in my viewing! I love this show!

I miss it too, K. Barrett, in the worst way! And don't get me started on the Emmy diss. But I'm over it. Most of the actors are on to bigger and better things, as they should be, because their talent is solid. I keep playing trivia on Facebook on the fan page. I'm currently at 'Buff' with 7000+ points.

Keep us posted on how you like the series. I miss this show so much! Thanks K. Barrett. Btw I love your avatar and I miss Flower. Right, I'm on to S4 and I'm loving it in a big way. My OH and I are so in to this programme, we just can't stop watching! I liked S3 as it tied up loose ends, but i found it a little bit slow moving. Whereas my OH preferred S3 and finds S4 a bit slow. I'm glad Prez is still in it and I'm glad we get to see a better side of him. I think the kids are great actors and I just know I'm gonna get upset in the future, cause being The Wire it's not going to end well for all of them. I'm currently getting upset at Bubbles getting his ass kicked and I'm hoping we are gonna see some revenge for that in the future. I'm glad to see Wee Bay back in it and the Tator salad quote is still my favourite! It took me awhile to get used to Aiden Gillen....not because I don't like him...it's just he will forever be remembered in my minds eye....performing a certain sex act that had never been seen before on UK TV in Queer As Folk in the 1990's! This is a great program and I can't believe that none of the big network stations in the UK have shown it.

Well.... Lost kind of sucked.
So I decided to move The Wire up in my Netflix queue. I only put in the first disc of season one because I didn't want the other ones coming if I hated it. But wow. I am pleasantly surprised at how GOOD this is. I truly wasn't expecting it to be. Usually, these shows everybody gushes about turn out to be duds in my opinion. But I have only seen the first three episodes and I am hooked. Got the next two discs coming tomorrow.
What I'm loving mostly are the characters and the dialogue. And the acting is outstanding. Besides Idris Elba, I have never seen or heard of any of these actors. But they are all rocking their roles. And it it wrong I have so much sympathy for D'Angelo? You can tell he has so much more to offer then just dealing drugs. But I get the feeling things won't end well for him.
Omar showed up in the third episode and I can already tell I'm going to love him.
Can't wait to watch the rest of this!
Oh....I love the scene where D'Angelo is explaning Chess to some of his crew. They were using the chess board and pieces to play Checkers. I don't know why that scene sticks in my mind.

Welcome to the family! It has its ups and downs but by far is one of the best dramas I've seen.

If you are hooked now, just wait....I had to really push through the first half of Season 1, but then I ended up combining Netflix orders with my dad so we could watch the series faster - and then he went out and bought the entire series on box set so we could burn through more episodes at a time. It's a great, great show.

I bought my dad the complete box set two weeks ago and he's been watching them 3-4 at a time so I have fallen behind quickly, but I'll catch up because I was a serious Homicide: Life on the Street fan and what I've seen looks very good.
