I searched. And searched. There used to be a thread for this, I don't know what happened.

Anyway, is anyone watching this show? This is the best season so far, I can't miss an episode. The writing and acting is so true to life especially the middle school scenes. I am wondering what is going to happen to Michael, and if Herc will get fired. And did anyone see the way Chris beat the shit out of that guy last week?

This is the best show ever.* Unfortunately, TPTB in Australian broadcasting have decided to completely fuck with screening this show and so if you ever manage to catch it that's only because you are up at 3am for some reason. So, I have to rely on US imports which is ok because I get to then own it but it also means that I am a season behind. Hence, I am still mourning Stringer!

Can't wait for the next season!

Bumping this up because I have just discovered this show having rented season 1 and I have to chime in with agreement that this is the best show ever. I have three more episodes to go in Season 1 and am so hooked I may buy Seasons 2 & 3 rather than waiting on Netflix. Do these seasons stand up to Season 1?

Absolutely. (And Season 4 is due out December 4th, I think.)

Drucilla, I think Season 5 is to start winter/spring 2008. (It's irrelevant to me, because I buy the sets rather than pay for the movie channels up here. )

As much as I love this show, I have to laugh at the bizarre way BET showed this in reruns. Season 1 was all right, if ridiculously commercial-filled, but when they showed Season 2 with the white people edited out, I couldn't believe it.

I can't believe we have a thread for the Wire. I'm a wirehead. I love, love, love this show. I personally would like to see Herc and Carve make up, come out to Danniels, move in together and adopt Randy. Just Kidding!

I would really like to see Carve beat the crap out of Herc. Little Kevin, Bubs and Randy all suffered because of Herc. But you have to admit when Herc and Carve were a team they were great together. I love this show

Bumping up again because I just finished Season 3 and OMG. They killed Stringer Bell!!! Those bastards. For some reason I thought he might be the one to make it and that Avon Barksdale would bite it instead. My pretty is gone y'all. Sniff.

Wait, rewind...they edited out the white people?
How the hell did they do that ? Why the hell did they do that? There are mostly white people on the show, esp. in season 2 (the waterfront season, right?) so how could they do that and expect the show to be cohesive? Stupid BET.

So, this is what I get for checking this thread prematurely. Damn it.

I caught the first episodes of The Wire on HBO on Demand and I'm hooked now. It's so unbelievably good and I'm up to episode 5 of Season 2. I was checking the imdb page and Idris Elba (that man is abolutely hot) and the guy who plays Avon were with the show until 2004 so I figured they had them killed.

I have a new crush on Dominic West.He so hot. I can't believe the guy is British, he has no accent whatsoever. Now I want to read the book where the movie is based on.
