"I died, so many years agoooo..." There was a great bit at the end of season 2 when Buffy's just killed Angel and is leaving Sunnydale, and there's a heartrendingly sad song by Sarah McLachlan playing. Full Of Grace. Oh man, just the lyrics make me tear up after Buffy used it.

Another of Homer's funny little songs:
(To the tune of the Flintstones' theme song)
Simpson, Homer Simpson, He's the smartest guy in history From the town of Springfield, He's about to hit a chestnut tree....D'OH! (As he hits the chestnut tree).
Laughed my arse off

Oh man, just the lyrics make me tear up after Buffy used it. I was just wondering if that scene had been posted. I would like to add another moment from Buffy. She and Angel have broken up, leaving her shattered, depressed, and dateless for prom. She saves Sunnydale--again --and prom from hell hounds. She receives the Class Protector Award, and then Angel shows up--they dance to "Wild Horses" by the Sundays. Le sigh...

I just remember it being in the previews for an old Treehouse of Horror collection VHS.

Cher, the Mutato, and "Walking in Memphis" from the "Postmodern Prometheus" episode of the X-Files never fails to amuse. (And hell yeah to "Closure" and the Moby song.) Planet of the Apes is a classic but my favorite Simpsons musical is Oh! Streetcar!

Planet of the Apes is a classic but my favorite Simpsons musical is Oh! Streetcar! Oh! Streetcar! is absolutely my favorite Simpsons music. It's just so hilarious and inappropriate. I mean, the ending? "A stranger's just a friend you haven't met!" Completely brilliant!

I second Sarah McLachlan's "Full of Grace" in Buffy. It's so heartwrenching.
Despite my lack of interest in Friends, "With Or Without You" by U2 stands out.
Rooney on the O.C. has one of my favorite funny moments on the show.
Cold Case makes excellent use of music, too. So many great final song moments.

Wahoo, Buffy fans. Sorry, I love Buffy and miss having any Joss on TV.
Anyhow, I was watching Numbers on Friday night and when Larry is leaving to go to be an astronaut (with Buzz Aldrin in a cameo) they played Elton John's "Rocket Man." It was a sweet, touching moment. I love Peter McNichol as Larry. And of course, speaking of Joss, David Krumholtz was Mr. Universe in "Serenity." Another favorite, and full of the prettiness (Nathan Fillian is delicious).
