monkey, it's from the Monorail episode, I think. Thanks! I'm going to borrow a friend's DVDs next week. ETA: Just remembered a favorite TV moment involving music. It was either the end or the beginning of the second season of ER (I remember that much because it was summer), and someone at the front desk was playing Sly and the Family Stone's 'If You Want Me to Stay.' The camera followed various staff members as they grooved to the music. Also, on Cheers, whenever Lilith and Frasier are battling over the karaoke machine (during Rebecca's wedding to Robin), any use of a Righteous Brothers song, Woody serenading Kelly ("Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly..."), the whole bar singing Toora-Loora-Loora to one of Carla's kids over the phone, when Norm throws out his back and is recuperating on Frasier and Lilith's couch, and everyone winds up over there singin drinking songs...well, you get the picture.

ITA with all the Buffy Moments. I also love the music playing at the end of The Gift. That sad piano just gets me every time

I fifth or sixth too many moments in Buffy. My contribution to the thread is from the My So-Called Life Christmas episode when Juliana Hatfield: Homeless Angel is singing "Make It Home" in the school. Man, I need to go get that off of I-Tunes. I think I read that she wrote it mixing "Oh Holy Night" and "Silent Night" together.

The best moment I can think of right now is at the end of the "Jurassic Bark" episode at the end when we discover that after Fry disappeared, his dog waited for him for the rest of his life in front of the pizza shop where Fry worked. They used "I Will Wait For You" by Connie Francis and it was perfect for the scene.
Another one I liked was on Angel, after Fred died--it was the montage at the end set to "A Place Called Home."
The Shield and The Sopranos always have me running to Google to try to figure out what the songs are so I can get them.

There was an episode of Miami Vice that also featured "Brothers in Arms." I can't remember the specifics, but I do remember it being an outstanding episode and a terrific use of the song.

The Shield and The Sopranos always have me running to Google to try to figure out what the songs are so I can get them. Joan of Arcadia was like that for me. I'm glad that they put the featured artist names at the end of each episode.

ER--"Battleflag" by Lo-Fidelity All-Stars playing when Carter comes into the room and finds Lucy all stabbity stabbed on the floor, then proceeds to get all stabbity stabbed himself by David Krumholtz. Absolutely bone-chilling.

Absolutely bone-chilling. That was David Krumholtz? Man, I'd totally forgotten that. It's been so long since I saw that episode and David Krumholtz wasn't on my radar then, pre-Numbers and pre-Serenity.

Oh, God, best reveal ever. When I got my Freaks and Geeks DVD a few years later and Krumholtz showed up as Sam's older brother, my sister screamed bloody murder.
Murphy Brown, when Murphy sings 'Natural Woman' to her newborn son. The Cosby Show, when Lena Horne performs and when the whole family sings 'Night Time is the Right Time.'

One of my favorites is from My So-Called Life when Jordan Catalano holds Angela Chase's hand in the hallway at school while Buffalo Tom's "Late At Night" plays. Abso-frickin'-lutely.
