Does he piss $100 bills or something?
I suspect if he does it's monopoly money. His ex got something like $1M and change when they divorced which supposedly put a serious dent on his wallet. I also remember stories that his family didn't like Liz at all and cut him off. Either they have all the money and he got an allowance or he didn't have anywhere near as much money as the press made is seem like he did throwing around words like 'tycoon' and 'heir' to describe him.

Urgh, he sounds like a real winner. Then again, Liz ain't exactly the epitome of class an decorum, so maybe they're a match made in Heaven.
Nayyar or this other guy? Because now over on D-Listed they're saying that Nayyar's family are the ones with the money, so that makes sense. It also doesn't surprise me that his family would be giving her a hard time. I work with Indian guys, and one thing I picked up is that it's not uncommon for wives and mother-in-laws to butt heads, and you don't run afoul of an Indian mother-in-law. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Princess Liz refuses to eat Mama Nayyar's cooking because she doesn't want to get fat.

Nayyar's family wasn't too fond of Liz.

Nayyar's family wasn't too fond of Liz. Is anybody, aside from the guy she's currently boning? She just seems so deeply unpleasant.

I think mmmkrimpets was talking about Arun - he comes from a wealthy family, but he himself doesn't have much. And I think his family was already sick of supporting him by the time Liz came along and forced a formal rift. There was a story when they were dating about Liz demanding a First Class upgrade for him on a flight - he couldn't afford to pay for it, but Liz was all, "Do you know who he/we are?"

That makes sense, because in Indian culture, family is paramount. I can see Nayyar's family really closing up the ranks when some gold-digging white woman tries to horn her way in. Considering that, I'm surprised she lasted as long as she did. Arun might be very attractive, but I'll bet his family made life pretty hard for her. Can't say I feel too sorry for her, TBH. You mess wit' da bull, you get da' horns, as the saying goes.

I am sure it didn't even matter if she wasn't a golddigger. That wouldn't be the problem but her race would.
Actually is she really a golddigger? Didn't she turn down money from the father of her child?

I think Arun Nayar's mother is German.

It's hard for me to imagine that she's a gold digger - she must have a bazillion dollars by now with all the sh*t she slaps her name on (um, beef jerky?). If Jessica Simpson is a multimillionaire, I imagine Liz must be too.
It's a shame she and Hugh split up - seems like they were the only ones who could stand each other for any real length of time.
