No, Hotch is in the witness protection program. His life was in danger from an on-going serial killer that came from the past to haunt them. So both he and his son were whisked away.
Now that's one way to say that someone isn't allowed back on set, other than killing them. LOL

Now that's one way to say that someone isn't allowed back on set, other than killing them. LOL But still leaves them an out in case they decide to change their minds a la Alex Cabot on L & O SVU. Or they could use the unknown twin approach like every soap opera ever...

I thought that, too. Me thinks they won't bring him back after such a heated and physical kerfuffle. It would be neat if they did have him back for the final season next year. Just to say goodbye or something. Or maybe pretend it's him with a stunt double from behind? I know the cast are so over him and don't want him back, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I like your idea of bringing the character back but not the actor, just for the craptastic campiness it would add to what sounds like has turned into a sad parody of itself. I don't remember all the details of Gibson being let go, but I vaguely recall it being because he was really nasty to work with and I don't like the idea of forcing the rest of the cast to suck it up and deal with him again if it was that bad.
