I think Matthew Fox has his own anger management issues.

While I'm glad they are taking things seriously--violence in the workplace is never acceptable--I think it's a show-killing move. That's my feelings, too. Violence in the workplace is ridiculous, but I'm not sure what they're going to do with the show unless they made a decision to make this the last season. They've played the revolving door with their female cast (except for Garcia) and it's really ridiculous. With Moore's departure last season, now Gibson's, I really don't know how they're going to keep the fanbase alive. I will say this, if they kill off his character I will be PISSED. Jack Hotchner has had enough shit and doesn't need to become an orphan, yo. (It still blows my mind that CM: Suspect Behavior tanked but CM: Beyond Borders is doing well enough to get a full second season. Although, I don't mind Gary Sinise.)

Given that the suspension blossomed into a full blown dismissal, I have to ask what happened between the time he got suspended and the time he got fired? If he had sources leak info to the press about how he was provoked, thinking that it would garner him sympathy, that ploy might have backfired.

Is it wrong of me to hope this finally gets the damn thing cancelled? Despite initially hating the show, CM has become my go-to resource for entertaining reruns now, and I hate that it has now spiraled down into ER territory as far as the horribly bad/implausible plots go. (I wish my mom were here, though, she would probably find this unfortunate development interesting, as CM was basically her favorite series in the last days.)

No joke, it took me a year, but I watched every damn episode on Netflix. I'm not sure how the show will do without Hotch, I've always seen him as the glue of the team. They bring in new people and the pieces all fit differently, but Hotch is what brings those pieces together. Now if Shemar Moore's character never left, I could just see the show promoting him and it would work, but with him and Hotch now gone, my love for Spencer Reid may not be enough for me to keep watching the show.

I haven't watched the show in years either, but I also can't see it working without him. He deserved to be fired for sure, but I wonder what they will do without the Hotch character.
PS I still miss Paget Brewster, although I understand why she chose to leave.
I always found Garcia slightly annoying for some reason, but Reid has my undying love forever.

I believe Paget's coming back to the show. Not sure if it's permanent or just an arc.
