Random, but Teen Sorcery, a really laughably bad (probably Canadian?) tv movie starring AJ Cook, was on last night.

So now the only woman will be back in the office all the time? Or is it going to be Baby Girl, Pistol Packin Tech? Also, the fake flirtation between Derek and Penelope is yucky. I wonder if it's some sort of inside joke on the part of the show, since the actress who plays Penelope is out, and there's rumours aplenty about Shemar Moore.

I doubt it's an inside joke based on that; I remember one time when Shemar was 'caught' at a gay beach (I think), he issued a Tom Cruise-worthy denial. So I don't think it's meant as some sort if insider wink-wink because of Shemar's sexuality; the guy seems way too defensive.

We know it's not going anywhere in real life. On the show, they could pair them up & it would work because we know there is deep affection and love between the characters.

I heard they were dropping AJ Cook, which is too bad, but eh, I found the character kind of dull as dishwater.

But less Prentice? That fucking sucks. I love Prentice.

I just read the "Prentiss and AJ are leaving" thing. Well, Prestiss' role will be reduced, whatever that means. In the past, every character had to go to every crime scene, so why have Prentiss there is she's not going to do anything. I really like Prentiss (and Paget), as I think she's great at the strong woman in a sea of men character. She holds her own.

And AJ is the connection between the team and the victims - who will do that now? Rossi will just growl at the families, Hotch will look grim, Reid will ask them inappropriately analytical questions, and Morgan will sleep with the hot relative.

I agree about Rossi - the character isn't necessary. At TWOP they used to hate him, but after I abandoned that CM thread for getting too cliquey and girthy, I went back and now they seem to love him. What. evs. Joe Mategna is good, but the character isn't needed.

If TPTB are trying to market this show to the alleged coveted 18-35 male, they better not be replacing two strong 30-ish women with a bimbo.

Yes, you nailed it here. If they had gone with these five characters it would have made much more sense. I don't understand their logic of dropping two well established female characters and bringing in a new one. Sigh.

Is JJ the best sharpshooter on the team? (Or one of the best, anyway.) I know she doesn't wave around a gun as much as the others, but we've seem her pull off some impressive-as-hell shots. She took down multiple moving targets in darkness in season 2, and in season 3 she pulled off a from-behind headshot through a pane of glass, while the target was holding a hostage.

I think the team dynamic will go downhill without Prentiss' sarcasm. The others don't have anything on her snark.
