They just better not mess with my sweet Spencer. I love him to death (and I'm old enough to be his grandmother).

I'm annoyed by this. If it was one man and one woman, I'd be less pissed, but dropping two thirds of the female cast is messed up.
If they want to make cast changes for financial reasons, then getting rid of Rossi or Hotch makes more sense, because I'd imagine as leads they get paid more, and if they want to make changes for creative reasons, then getting rid of Hotch or Reid makes more sense, because how many more stories of them suffering horribly can they wring out.
Seriously, I don't even like JJ as a character, I think she is boring and a bit useless, but I think the response to that should be to get better writers, not get rid of the actress.
I hate that women can be seen as so easily discarded in tv shows.

Yeah, if they were going to reduce anyone's time, it should be Hotch. After the whole foyet thing, they could have written him deciding to be a consultant or something to work less and take care of his kid. They wouldn't have had to write him out, just reduce his role, and characterwise I think it would have made a lot more sense than him going right back to work and a convenient sister in law volunteering to look after Hotch's kid.
And then Morgan could have become permanently in charge, which would have made more sense for his character, too.
Dumping one female character and reducing the role of another? Shitty. And I f'love Prentice, so this is pissing me off.

I agree with what you've written. I love Garcia, Reid, and Prentice. The others don't really matter, but getting rid of A.J. instead of Hotch or Rossi is a dumb move. I think Hotch should be cut loose. He's boring, and I'm sick of his personal dramas. Rossi is still a bit of a mystery, and JM is a better actor than TG.

I have no idea how they'll keep the team dynamic in place at all. The well-balanced blend of personalities is one of the only believable things about this series and one of the last entertaining elements. This move will kill the show.

According to a link someone posted in TWOP, JJ might only be coming back for one episode. I don't know what sort of 'closure' the show could give the character within the span of one episode, unless they're planning on offing her.

My guess is that she'll be seriously injured in the line of duty and that will make her rethink her job choice and the risks required and how it affects her child, etc. etc. There will be references to Hotch and his son, and how JJ doesn't want her child to lose his mommy.
I always think it must be weird for actors to read scripts that help them to be unemployed.

JJ said after Haley's funeral that she would leave her job if her family was threatened. I think they could write it as her heart hasn't been in it since Haley and she has been looking for another job. It isn't like she wouldn't be qualified for any other job -- she could move into the FBI office in New Orleans.
If they kill her off, that would be 2 children left without a mother because of a parent being in the BAU within a year. They set a precedent of not showing us what is going on with her (like looking for another job or even discussing it with anyone), because we had no idea she had maintained a relationship with Will until he showed up in Miami and they went public at the end.

I like how last night's episode was basically a giant F U to CBS. Ed Bernero used to get on my nerves, but I kinda love him now. (Well, I loved him for his Roman Polanski comments, but this is just the icing on the cake.)
"Don't worry, there will be lots of big strong men to protect you." Oh, no they didn't!
