Someone's off to the gulag.
I watched it in a bar with friends drinking heavily. This is the best way to enjoy Eurovision. I have to be honest and say that I found Conchita's song boring and her voice is not particularly inspiring either. I did not vote for her though I like that people all over Europe did. My favorite was The Netherlands followed by Finland and then Iceland.

If anything, I'm amazed the Netherlands came second. Everyone was convinced it would sink like the Titanic. Though to be fair, every year you get to see the same whinging beforehand, no matter what song and act.

I actually liked Conchita's song; it had a James Bond theme song feel to it, which I enjoyed. I was pleasantly surprised that the Netherlands did so well. I do think that if Conchita hadn't been, well, Conchita, that the Dutch would have won. But I'm ok with losing out to people making a social statement.
I've actually got the Dutch song stuck in my head now after hearing it earlier this morning when I was out and about. My other favorites were Iceland and Belarus.

My favorite this year was Azerbaijan and I was probably the only one that voted for it in Iceland. I looked it up, it came in dead last with the televoters. I wasn't that impressed with Austria's song or the performance but I am happy that she won and got the votes from all over Europe. For the first time in a long time I really liked our entry even though I knew it wouldn't go far. I liked the message and the performance, it was positive and fun. And seriously, WTF Poland?

What? You have a problem with a random woman sexily churning butter during a song and dance routine? ;-)
I liked Iceland's entry.

I don't have a favourite this year. There were several acts that I liked, among them Italy and Serbia.
Part of me wants Australia to win, just because I have some Australian internet acquaintances who would totally flip out if it happened.
