Apparently Fox has picked up the spin off Finder for the fall. Ugh. Did they not test the show with focus groups? I can't imagine anyone enjoying a full hour of that mess. I predict a quick death for the show.

I generally enjoyed the idea behind Finder and will probably watch, but they have got to let the actress drop that atrocious accent. That would stop me from watching. Maybe I just enjoyed the Finder episode on Bones because Bones itself has been annoying the crap out of me recently. It's one show I wouldn't be upset seeing cancelled. I watch out of habit, rather than real enjoyment. I feel like they've been so inconsistent with Brennan over the years, in terms of her ability to relate to people. If anything, they seem to be making her worse in her cluelessness. She's turning into an idiot savant. The whole cast seems to have been turned into a bunch of caricatures, rather than real characters that you care about. Slapstick dramedy isn't really a great genre.

Damn. I cannot believe they just killed off Mr. Nigel-Murray. I liked that guy.

They should have killed off the tall depressed dude... it would have been more poignant for him to discover at the last minute that maybe life was worth living after all.

So bigger question-- did they are didn't they?
But I was very sad to see VN-M go. I did like him.

I appreciated the extensive Geoff Stults shirtlessness, but thought he was somewhat miscast - he seems like such a genial, buddy-buddy type of guy that I don't quite buy him as a social weirdo like Bones.

Aw, I had a little crush on dorky Mr. Nigel-Murray. Why, writers, why? I guess they had to pick someone viewers are fond of, but not a major character (lest they experience a redux of the Gormagon's apprentice backlash). Aw. Sniff. He made me so sad when he died, although his dialogue ("Why can't I stay?," etc., seemed to be a shoutout to Fred's death on "Angel," which I thought was a little cheesy ... even if it still made me sad).
After I watched the newest ep, I caught a S1 rerun on TNT. Damn, I can't believe how long this show's been on. Emily Deschanel looked so young back then (not that she doesn't look young now). This makes me realize that "Bones" has been on longer than "Angel" was, which kind of blows my mind because I still somewhat associate DB with that character.

I knew she was British, but didn't know she was actually from London. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that the accent is incredibly annoying. It sounds more old-fashioned Cockney than contemporary Cockney; like Oliver! vs Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels. While I hated to see Mr. Nigel-Murray die, it was nice to have some of the slapstick stuff scaled back for an episode. At least they also finished this storyline, so they can't keep returning to it.
