I always think of this episode! When I first saw it, I had no idea who Elton John or Kiki Dee were. So I was very disappointed that Barbara wasn't the girl.

And now in retrospect, you realize that Elton was the girl. *rimshot*

I've only seen the early episodes, even in reruns, so I never got to see the ones with Glenn Scarpelli. Although I saw a clip of him on American Bandstand (?) singing an early Janet Jackson song. It was on that VH1 child star special.

Was that the same episode with Max and Julie singing "Love and Marriage" and Alex sining "Duke of Earl" and Ann doing some Shirley Temple tap dance? That last thing was all kinds of squirm-worthy badness.
