Actually, I never noticed you were gone, but go off I guess. Gosh, Kate, not only did we not notice you were gone, but we kind of think turnabout is fair play. You've been making us really sick for years now.

I've never liked Kate Hudson, but I have to admit that I have seen Bride Wars several times now, including this past Sunday. It's so dumb but it's like comfort food.

You could also wait for the really old fashioned gender reveal party, when the baby's born...

When my brother and his wife were having kids, news of their genders would spread the old-fashioned way: they told the grandmothers and shortly thereafter everyone knew. Worked like a charm all three times.

When I was pregnant, I was SURE I was having a girl. Everyone in my family has girls first. I was having “girl” food cravings, etc. Then when I had an ultrasound, there was a little penis. OH. It took me a good 18 hours to come to terms with the fact that what I was SO (stupidly) SURE about was completely wrong. It’s a good thing that I think gender reveal parties are self indulgent and idiotic, or it would have been quite the scene.
I texted people a picture of Chris Lowe from Pet Shop Boys wearing that BOY baseball cap to let them know.
Re: the over-the-top prom invitations. Why are people doing this? I would like to say that when my son is of age, I will tell him we aren’t doing any of that, but if all his friends are, you are kind of forced into it. Kind of like how I feel forced into giving kids treat bags at birthday parties. Why are we doing THAT? When I was a kid, you went to a party with a present in hand, and left empty handed with fun memories of a party, and the attendees were not also given gifts because it was not OUR birthday. I don’t want to do this, but I feel like I have to.

A longtime family friend is pregnant with her first child and they've decided not to find out the gender until in the delivery room. My first thought was "thank god--no reveal party to have to get out of!"
Re: Kate. I could see her naming this baby something like Blessing or Sunshine. Or Sunshine Blessing. I feel like she'll really let her hippie flag fly with this kid.

My guess is the name will start with F because her boyfriend's last name is Fujikawa and her other kids are Ryder Robinson and Bingham Bellamy. Flower Fujikawa? Felicitation Fujikawa? Flourish Fujikawa? Friendship Fujikawa?

I predict that at least the middle name will be a family name.
Ryder's middle name is Russell after Kurt and Bing was the name of Kurt's grandfather.
Kurt's mother was Louise Julia. Goldie's middle name is Jeanne and her mother's name was Laura.
