You know, personally, I agree with this statement. Kate's mistake in making it was the generality of the "for a woman" phrase - she should have said "for me". I agree with her statement *for me* - blanket statements about what "women" should or should not be doing with their lives, whether it's playing homemaker/mom or having a high powered career, are offensive and dumb. The whole point of feminism is that we (women) be allowed to make the right choices for ourselves as individuals and not because one group or another says we should do one thing or another. Imo, anyway.
As for her hubbie - I dunno why everyone thinks he's an asshole but I'll admit to picking up some asshole vibes, even though I totally admit I have nothing to back that up. Didn't he pressure her to lose weight after the baby? Or am I misremembering?

More lighting tricks from awful plastic surgery. Try this, look directly into the mirror, then turn your face 1/2" to one side, voila your nose looks different. I just darkened the before & slightly tinted it. It's the same nose. She just has less makeup on and her face is turned to the side somewhat. Notice that her forehead is also slimmer in the before. Did she have an inch taken out of her skull also? (ETA--I should have said "an inch added" so now she has more space for her big brain, or something like that.)

I agree that I don't mind if she says, for me it's important to be domestic, etc, but I can't stand how she always says women and makes such generalizations. She really needs to speak for herself. I generally agree that plastic surgery sites tend to reach a little sometimes, but I still think she had a nose job. Thisnose and this nose do not look like the same nose she has now, no matter the lighting or facial expression. Her nose now looks more sculpted and pointy to me. Of course, just my opinion. ETA: Okay the links aren't working. Go here Try enlarging the photos. Especially look at pictures 4-5 in the first row.

I think that Miss Hudson was not deferential enough to the photographer or lighting person in that movie, Le Divorce. Whenever she was filmed with Miss Watts, Miss Hudson looked like a hag. They were definitely lighting and filming for Miss Watts, because she was always radiant.
Ever since I saw that movie, I have to say that I have found Miss Hudson to be singularly unattractive---even when she is paying the light and photography person.

I think she looked kinda bad in Le Divorce as well. That bob was really unflattering and brought out her spaced-apart hammer head shark looking eyes. Speaking of nose jobs and Le Divorce, take a look at a young Naomi Watts: pictureHmmmmm....

I saw a documentary about Goldie. They showed video footage of Kate when she was probably about fifteen or sixteen. The nose was definitely different, obviously so. I think she may have had it reduced and thinned. I wouldn't be surprised if she handed a picture of her mother to her plastic surgeon and said "Make it exactly like this nose." Being a Goldie clone seems to be the basis of her career. All that said, she's an okay actress who doesn't offend me too much. I realize that she's completely stupid so I'm never surprised at what she says.

Hudson seems to have fallen off the radar quite a bit over the last couple of years, IMO.
She isn't getting the level of worship she did back around the release of Almost Famous.

What I don't get is why she keeps saying all this crap about how a woman's place is in the home, and yet she keeps making movies? If she wants to believe women should stay home and please their men, that's fine, it's her loss. But if that's really what she thinks, she shouldn't be working. She is such a hypocrite.
I have never liked her ever since I read a piece about her in Vanity Fair (or Vogue? They look alike). She'd forgotten her sunglasses, so she drug the interviewer to a ritzy store and bought something like six or seven new pairs of designer sunglasses. Can you say "show off"? One pair would have been enough. It was just so tacky.

Other than How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (which I thought was dumb) her movies have done poorly. So I'm not sure why articles/pictures of her are constantly being plastered in magazines. Unless it's a case of the media deciding to forcefeed her to the public as a big star (much like they did with Ben & Jen, and you know how well that played out).
