Best comment was Andre saying not only doesn't he believe in ghosts, but even if he did he wouldn't believe Lennon would talk to random Becky. Hahahahaha!! I always did like Andre. I really hope she got royalties for COULD YOU GET THE PHONE??? because that is still in my head decades later. I loved it in the first episode where she called out "could you get me some tape" and goes "oh Lord, that's going to be the new 'could you get the phone'" I'm glad to see that my suspicion that Becky was still an asshole all these years later wasn't a false positive. I always got the sense that the worst of her was mostly on the cutting room floor (certain fights excepted), there was a hard edge to her always and the nicer sides always seemed like a large effort for her. But in her old age, she's really letting the facade drop entirely. This entire episode was a display case for the worst sides of her. She must have pissed somebody off in the production room. And I don't know if it's the association with her or what, but I find Norm less charming than I did in the original. Some of his spark and enthusiasm seems dulled by life. Julie is also subdued compared to the original, she seems a lot quieter (until she gets drunk and rips on the other RW cities, LOL). Andre probably hasn't changed all that much, but without the hair and the "lead singer in a band" vibe, it's more obvious that he always was a pretty quiet, shy guy offstage. Watching the original season after seeing this, it stands out more that he was pretty reserved. I was interested to hear about Heather's background, nothing personal about her ever came up on the original show.

Episode 3--WOW! What a freakin' baby Becky is. Can't take being confronted with questions about racism so she cries she's being picked on and up and leaves as "this wasn't what I signed up for."

On the flip side of the coin, Puck was the first reality show villain I remember well and truly HATING, although at the time I was pretty blissfully naive about a lot of reality show editing/scripting/tropes. No idea how much it was that and how much he was genuinely a dipshit. He's trash. The show did him a favor by portraying him as charming. Since The Real World, he has: -spent a year in prison for beating up his girlfriend (his girlfriend being a separate person from his wife) -got probation for felony possession of ammunition -drove drunk and got himself and his son into a major car accident -was arrested for felony injury of a spouse -served another two years in prison for stalking a woman I've been rewatching RWSF on Paramount+ now that the reunion show has brought me to it (and WHY? does it go from London straight to Vegas?? and then skips the only decent post Vegas seasons too, grrr) and wow, Puck is toxic as hell. Gaslighting douchebag to the nth degree. It's painful to watch Rachel and Cory fall victim to his manipulations. And the editing definitely did him a favor in many respects, which is gross. I stand by my teenager's opinion that Pam wasn't good TV in the sense of drama, but watching it back as an adult, I respect her so much more. Every time Puck tried to bait her, she was all "yeah, whatever." No drama, just a complete dismissal because he wasn't worth her time. Regarding the current reunion season, I'm unsurprised that Becky is still clueless about the same things she was clueless about in 1992. Norm tried to save herself from herself and she just couldn't see it. And her "no, our friendship isn't real"?? After 30 years, you're going to say something like that just because you're upset? Okay then...

My teenage self can now feel validated every time I wished Puck would get hit by a bus. What a shitstain! Pam was awesome. I thought it was sweet that she and Judd ended up together.

But it truly sounds like Becki hasn't changed at all since 1992. I'm cracking up that she felt the need to storm out - the reunion lasted one week. How hard is it to get along with people for a week?

One 'fight,' which wasn't so much a fight as a debate and everyone else was being super civil, and she couldn't deal. Such a baby. I started the RWSF rewatch yesterday and I agree about Pam. She was very 'let things roll off her back' which in hindsight makes her awesome. It's funny to watch now knowing that she and Judd had a HEA.

She was very 'let things roll off her back' which in hindsight makes her awesome. It's funny to watch now knowing that she and Judd had a HEA. It was just nice to see a woman with enough confidence to not let Puck's shit get to her. Jo, Puck's replacement, also didn't take any shit from Puck, but she didn't really have to spend much time with him. Rachel and Cory's high-pitched whining and bargaining and begging with Puck was really hard to watch. Every little crumb of praise he threw their way seemed to fill them up and then he'd call them Chubs or whatever and they'd be devastated again. As for Becky, she did a very dramatic, wordless flounce. Part of me wanted the rest of them to just let her walk out without a word to see what she would do. And just like 1992 Becky who lectured the younger members of the house about the differences in maturity between being 24 vs 21, 2020 Becky has declared herself "beyond the reality TV thing" and the only one who's truly moved on and grown up. Whatever, Becky...

WHY? does it go from London straight to Vegas?? I'm annoyed Hawaii isn't there. I remember being really into that season and would've liked to have revisited to see if I still felt the same.

Every time Puck tried to bait her, she was all "yeah, whatever." No drama, just a complete dismissal because he wasn't worth her time. I noticed the same thing on my rewatch. Puck was constantly negging and pushing Cory and Rachel around - with the "chubs" nickname, telling them to shut up, telling them their thoughts/feelings were stupid, etc. It was awful. But he didn't really try it with Pam...because it didn't work. He couldn't gaslight her, so he didn't try (and I think Pedro picked up on what a dirtbag he was immediately which is why he had such a strong, negative reaction to him). Guys like Puck know how to pick their victims, and he could read pretty early on that Pam wasn't going to be one of them. So, I would agree as well - Pam didn't bring the drama, but she was an intelligent woman with a strong sense of self and purpose and she didn't take any of Puck's bait. She is a good role model in that sense. And I had forgotten that Mohammed had to share a room with Puck - that must have been awful (both from his behavior and how everyone talked about how bad he smelled). I laughed when they showed Mohammed burning sage in his room after Puck was kicked out.
