I'm so glad that this is streaming on Netflix. I've been enjoying the hell out of reliving this show. One of the best unscripted moments on TV ever. Especially since you can tell Michael Ontkean is trying so hard not to laugh (and the woman playing the receptionist in the background is no where near as good at keeping a straight face).

Awesomely, the Hollywood Theater in Portland announced that they're showing the entire series on the big screen, starting with the pilot on March 7th and then 2 episodes every subsequent Wednesday. Maybe those lucky folks will also get Kyle to show up between Portlandia filming! I am the sadz that I don't live there.

USC has decided to be the greatest college ever and has been hosting a complete series retrospective this spring, featuring the cast and crew out the wazoo. Watching it on the big-screen? With a huge audience? It's AMAZING. It's such a different experience. BUT - the Q&A after the pilot and first few episodes, with co-creator Mark Frost himself? Word for word: "Twin Peaks is a continuing story and that comes from both me and David." I'm sorry, Arrested Development on Netflix and the Veronica Mars movie and all that jazz is great and imma let you finish but a TP Sequel/Next Chapter/whatever would be the GREATEST OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIME. And, regarding all those deleted FWWM scenes that have never seen the light of day/a proper home video release - "lawyers are working on it as we speak." The school student TV station has been awesome enough to be filming all the Q&As and posting them on their website. For some reason, I forgot that Madchen Amick WASN'T in Dual Spires/the Psych homage but rather in a different episode of Psych. So I thought that she and Dana Ashbrook/Bobby Briggs had reunited already. Nope. They were positively adorable together for the Week 2 Q&A. Where Russ Tamblyn BROUGHT HIS JACOBY GLASSES and whipped them out! In horrible sad news though, comments from crew and cast members have confirmed that the rumors that Kyle prematurely killed the Coop/Audrey ship (allegedly because he and LFB were dating IRL) are true. He killed the ship. The Q&As have ended up being pretty long - especially after watching three or four hours of TV before intermissions! - I'd say none of these vids are gonna be less than an hour, but they're worth watching. (Anyone want to give me a winning lottery ticket so I can fly all the Greecies out to LA for the remaining screenings?)

God this show was so good. Though I found the 2nd series to be more like a nightmare, and I still cower whenever I see Ray Wise (Leland Palmer) on TV.

Thank you for the heads-up on the screenings, lethallyfab! I'm so sad I missed most of these. I already have plans this Sunday, but I'm going to try to make the last screening in April. Little Audrey Horne will be there in person! In horrible sad news though, comments from crew and cast members have confirmed that the rumors that Kyle prematurely killed the Coop/Audrey ship (allegedly because he and LFB were dating IRL) are true. He killed the ship. I'm glad that my LFB hate of 20+ years has finally been totally justified. I love Kyle as Coop, but boo on him, too, for killing the ship, which would've been amazing. Because of this, we were stuck with boring-ass Annie. Grrr.

I actually like Annie. Heather Graham's acting, not so much.

Ack, I couldn't edit properly on the mobile app - I should have phrased it as folks DEFINITELY confirmed that the ship was killed per Kyle's request, but didn't elaborate on/no one asked whether the LFB alleged rumor was true or about the rumor that Kyle was uncomfortable with the May-Decemberness (because they made a point of Audrey being legal/over-18, in the show, right?)
Audrey Horne AND Julee Cruise will be at the April one! I can't wait!
(Also, FWWM with Ray Wise himself in early May!)
Annie was written somewhat decently - especially when you consider how the character was added semi-last-minute after Kyle killed the Audrey ship - but, yeah, I hated Heather Graham FOREVER because I always just saw her as the bitch who stole Coop from Audrey. Now that I know that it was Kyle/Coop himself who destroyed that plotline, I may feel differently.

I have been terrified of Ray Wise since I watched Twin Peaks when I was 12. His Leland Palmer was perfect. So now that he has a recurring role as a kindly Priest on Psych? I keep waiting for him to kill Sean and Gus then dance around while crying.

The library had the Twin Peaks Gold set. I love the show but haven't seen more than the original episodes. I don't know much about the Gold box set. Recommendations? Should I check it out?
