Hee! I flove this show. Much of it was so corny, and the dialogue was generally bad. (especially the last 5 minutes--"It's a party! Things happen!" anyone?). But I'm so tuning in next week it's not even funny.

Just watched my TiVo'd episode. Floved it for all it's soapy cheesiness. Plus, I've liked Blake Lively ever since the Sisterhood movie. I haven't watched a good teen soapy show since the OC's season 1 so this is perfect! Also? Matthew Settle. He made my heart race in Band of Brothers and now I can see his beautiful face every week. I am so there.
And I've already got a crush on Dan. What can I say? I'm easy.

So how old are the main characters in this show - high school, college? My 14-year-old really wanted to watch it, and started to, but walked away. She said it was stupid. Are teen girls the intended market for this show?
It seems Hollywood knows only a few kids of teenagers: rich bitchy snots, kids who appear wholesome but are having orgies and/or committing murder (see CSI, WaT, CC, L&O, etc) or nerds. Yes, that covers about 1% of the teen population in the real world, Hollywood.

Count me in as someone who loved it too. It's mindless entertainment!

I'm watching it right now (never read the books) and the blonde girl is totally a new Joey Potter/Marissa Cooper.

I haven't watched the show yet, but I read the books. The show can't possibly be any cheesier than they are.

I never read the books but I really hope they don't make Serena into a Marissa/Joey Potter. So far, she seems ok. I've also never seen Blake Lively in anything before, but she seems to be a better actress than Misha Barton and Katie Holmes.

She looks/carries herself like a bitter divorcee in her mid 30s, though.

I saw the second episode. Not bad, but I don't see why everyone is soooooo mad at Serena. In the world of teen soap, this is so not a big deal. Move on, people.

She looks/carries herself like a bitter divorcee in her mid 30s, though. I thought she looked a good ten years older than the other kids. I enjoyed it enough to go through the hassle of programming my VCR to tape it tonight. Didn't absolutely love it, but I'll stick it out for a couple more weeks to see how it goes.
