He was brilliant wasnt he? Both Ralph Fiennes and Tommy Lee Jones were tough competition that year though.
I actually think he has the best chance of taking the oscar from Forest Whitaker this year, though. Although I actually think both of them are very deserving.

I still don't find him attractive and think his face is too baby-like, but with The Aviator and his '06 films he's pretty much convinced me that he can have a career after Titanic. Took him a little longer than Kate Winslet, but he seems to be getting industry respect now. Second Best Actor nom on the way (unless category confusion kills his chances)?

Awww! Love them. I was sad when he lost at the GG but still do have some hope left for the OScars. I don't know why as there is no reason why one should assume there will be surprises. But hey, I can dream right? ;-)

Yes! Leo/Kate picture! I always get myself so psyched up for a Titanic reunion when the two of them are nominated in the same year. Especially after her freaking the fuck out and hugging him when he won the GG a couple years ago.

Yeah, she somehow looks even hotter than she did in '97 (wow, they filmed that 10 years ago!) But he definitely looks 10 years older. Then again, he looked about 16 in Titanic so it's understandable that he would age a little eventually.
Still cute as hell! Jack + Rose 4-EVAH!

He's one of the few tv actors that I can buy as another character. I still remember him on Growing Pains, though. For the last season, he was the only reason I stuck around.
My favorite movie of his is Romeo + Juliet. He was able to pass the Shakespearean lines as conversational convincingly.
I can't wait to see Blood Diamond.
