I was never a big fan of his (hated the whole titanic thing), liked him in Catch Me If You Can, but nothing more than that, until The Departed. He was phenomenal in that, and deserved the award imo (i love Forrest Whittaker though, so that was cool).

Still don't think he's hot though, just talented.

I hate to be so superficial, but he does look bloated there -- which is weird, since he was in such great shape in "Blood Diamond." I think he just totally lets himself go when he's not working, then it seems like he whips himself back into shape (or, at least into a non-bloated state) when he's filming. That can't be good for his health. [/OT babbling] Anyway, Kate+Leo = squee! I love how they seem to really care about each other. And Kate's my girlcrush, so I have to love that photo.

Anyway, I was surprised he didn't snag a GG. His performances were great, just amazing. I've always thought he was really talented, but this year he's given the best performances of his career. His work in "The Departed" was a total masterpiece.

I am preparing myself to be quite pissed if DiCaprio gets NOTHING for The Departed. He was amazing.

I watched a few of his red carpet interviews on youtube ('cause I'm pathetic) and aww, he's always doing really well with those stupid reporters. He's charming, gives lenghty answers (without giving too much information about himself as a person) and is actually quite funny sometimes. There was one interview where he said that his new year's resolution was to find a job since he's unemployed at the moment. Maybe that explains why he seems to have put on a few pounds.;-) I love Leo.

Oscar noms will be announced on Tuesday!! He'll be nominated for sure but at this point I have no hope for an actual win.

I don't think he has any legitimate chance at the Oscar. In a way, he's just too young for a year in which there's some serious competition. People assume he has a lot of noms in his future.

Yeah, Leo and Kate Winslet are in the same boat (excuse the Titanic joke) when it comes to Oscar. They're going to be old before they win. The two of them always give great performances in movies but there's always someone who's a little better that year.

I thought he was charming during the GG interviews as well. Also, he totally reminds me of my brother. However, I think I would totally rock the Leo love if he would date someone other than 19 year-old models.
