I think Barry is a dear, sweet man, but ... he's a huge sissy girl. Is it proper procedure for paranormal investigators to run when they find what they're looking for? Aren't they supposed to, I don't know, investigate it? Jeez. I think Barry is terrified of anything that might be demonic, and I don't blame him, but dial it down a notch, buddy -- or find a career that doesn't scare the pants off you.

Thank you! I seriously was just thinking "aren't you supposed to be investigating this stuff? Not running from it?" That's what I think whenever I watch any of these shows. I know (if these are real) there's always the element of surprise, but screaming and running like a little girl? And if you watch "A Haunting" you rarely can get them out of the house!

Was I the only one who watched last night? With all the light turned out in my house and no on there except for my dogs this episode was a little scary for me. I'm one that finds EVPS creepy and the only where the person sounds like they are saying, "The boss wants it deeper!" was just really nerve shaking for me! Probably because the voice sounded like they were evil or something. I have to say I thought the human figure Jason and Grant caught kinda looked like a cat. It was certainly small enough to be one.
There were moments that cracked me up last night as well. I was doing some serious giggling when Steve screamed when he saw the spider. What was amusing to me was that Tango was just so nonchalant about it! Something tells me that Steve screams often during investigations and Tango has gotten used to it. It seemed kinda weird that Steve was cracking up while Tango crawled under the porch. Steve you wouldn't have lasted 2 seconds and would have been crying. So, I wouldn't be laughing over Tango being slightly freaked out. Though with that said for 60 bucks I would have crawled under there too! Grant's reaction to the face also amused me. I think it was because he so clearly putting effort into not swearing!

I blogged right through last night's ep. Sigh. That's probably not a good sign WRT my interest in the series.

Steve is the BIGGEST baby, ever. He just bugs me.
But forcing Tango into that underpart of the house was dorky. He could have received a spider bite or something else. For $60? Tango, really.
And I would have crapped my pants if I saw a full face looking right back at me in that little window cubby. Poor, Grant! He looked seriously freaked!
But the EVPs and the "Mommmmie" voices? Clear as a bell. Creeeeepy, yo. Creepy.
It was a good kicker to the new season. I'm looking forward to the next episode!

I thought it was a pretty entertaining episode, and it certainly cemented for me that I need Jason and Grant around to find these shows interesting since I think I watched maybe 1.5 episodes total of Ghost Hunters International.
Steve really needs to get over his fear of spiders, dirt, dark places, dust, etc. I mean, he investigates hauntings. These often happen in old places that have a lot of spiders and dirt. I know getting over phobias isn't easy, but let's work on it, dude.
the EVPs were freaky. I thought the thermal image was human-shaped, but I think the "warm spot" they found could have been from the cat. He could have been curled up taking a nap there before they showed up with their cameras.
I'm always amused at Grant's efforts to avoid swearing and the interesting made-up swear words we get as a result ("What the fig?!"). He seems to be the one most conscious about it - the rest of the team seems like they are all, "Whatever. They'll bleep me."
I'm still not sure how I feel about Girl Ghost Hunter.

They mentioned that they felt that it was a residual haunting, but the fact that the one voice asked for water -- as the camera man chugged a bottle of water -- tells me maybe there was something there that was an "intelligent" haunting. That creeped me out, too. What made me sad was that, combined with the story of the rift between the mother and daughter, was how sad and distressed the voice sounded, like she wanted her mother so badly. I once heard an EVP that a local ghost hunting group caught of a young man saying, "Go away!" and it was caught in a room where a 19-year-old killed himself. In that case, too, the voice sounded so upset and distraught. I can't stand stuff like that. The girl ghost hunter doesn't bother me as much as she used to, but I feel like she's probably there because TAPS feels like they need to have a female team member. She seemed so pissed at herself, but hell, I wouldn't stand in that dungeon alone. Jason and Grant got to go in together, yet she had to go in alone to "gain confidence." Huh? I thought the thermal "human" image looked like somebody with his back to the doorway, almost like he was warming his hands in front of the stove. Extra freaky points because the stove looked warm, too. But yeah, the warm spot on the bench could have been from a cat or animal.

Seriously! Honestly, I don't know how on Earth he has lasted this long. I know when he talked about his fear of flying he mentioned he had went to a therapist in an attempt to overcome the fear but it didn't work. My guess is that he went once and since he was fixed instantly he gave it up. Probably wouldn't hurt for him to give therapy a try again!
After watching GHI I've come to at least respect Kris, aka "The Girl Ghost Hunter". Donna and Shannon were just spooked way too easily and jumped to conclusions. Kris at least manages to usually keep her cool and doesn't automatically assume every little thing she sees and hears is a ghost. I was surprised they had her and Tango go down to the dungeon by themselves. I thought there was some rule that you are not allowed to investigate areas by yourself?
I must also admit I giggled when Tango went into the dungeon and was like, "I won't hurt you! Please don't hurt me! Can we talk... nicely?" He really was spooked!
