(Bumping myself) Poor guy just couldn't get past his demons. And Michaele Salahi was booted for having no addiction. OK, Drew - you couldn't figure that out BEFORE she checked in? At least he kicked her out. Proof that not ever Dr. Drew can treat chronic fameworeitis.

Such a tragedy about Mike Starr. Too bad "Dr" Drew had more interest in exploiting him than helping him.

How heartbreaking... Mike seemed like a genuinely nice guy underneath all the other shit, and I was pulling for him, too.

I'm not familiar with this guy but 44 is way too young to die. Ditto the other band member who died at 34. Jesus.

This is so sad because Mike Starr was your old fashioned drug addict minus the famewhore factor who needed so much more help than he could get from Dr. Drew, though I suppose it's possible that he's the sort that could never have hung on for very long.

Yeah, if you look at Mike's parents.... Dude was doing meth with his dad for decades.

I don't think it's right to blame Dr. Drew for what happened to Mike Starr.
When it comes down to it, it really comes down to the individual addict. If getting clean was easy, everybody would be sober.
No one knows why some make it and some don't. Some never go to rehab and yet they make it while others go to the best rehabs and can't stop relapsing.

Yeah, a lot of programs and addiction specialists don't sugar-coat it: rehab is not a sure thing, and most will relapse several times before getting clean... if they're able to get clean at all.
I'd like to think he'll make an example of her, but I'm mean that way. (Not that I'm watching, but I still listen to a lot of his radio stuff.)

BUMPing because it's back!
I missed the first part but Bai Ling and Michael Lohan's "home video"s felt incredibly staged. This show should be an inspiration for those with problems, but I hope it's not travelling down the manufactured reality road.
On a shallow note, Jeremy Jackson grew up very well.

I've only seen the preview so far and it had all the usual crap that's been on in seasons past. Vomit -check Revelation of sexual abuse - check Verbal abuse towards female staff - check Someone scurrying around on the roof - check Crying at meetings - check Pseudo-celeb (Lohan) putting on a histrionic performance - check Also, from what I remember reading during filming Dr. Drew has Michael Lohan and the GF he has abused, Kate Major, attempt to work things out. So we have Dr. Drew and his 'love conquers all' idiotic mentality again too. But hey, the formula must work cause I'll be watching!
