Yeah, Daniel Baldwin was sort of creepy with the blank stare and Jesus-spouting the first episode... and boldly stating that he was going to be an inspiration to people trying to get sober. Er, presumptuous? Jeff Conway is right-- you should be proud of 90 days, but it's really nothing. I'll admit he seemed to class it up for a bit, but then he left and all the other stuff came out. Not cool.
I felt for Mary too when she was dancing. I'm rooting for her, the Crazy Town guy... actually, all of them except that Ricco dude, who just really bothers me.
But why is Joanie there? If her addiction is to fame, maybe she shouldn't be on celebrity rehab. She seems nice enough, but dim with a dash of delusion. Hugh Hefner is a close friend? Puh-leeeze!

I think Joanie is just in some serious denial. When she was on the Surreal Life, she was drunk/high off her ass nearly the entire time. And I even remember one episode where another cast member was telling her good-night and asking if she was coming to bed, and she said something like, "In a little bit. I'm just going to get some skittles" and I'm pretty damn sure she didn't mean the rainbow-colored candy with the creepy commericals, especially since she spent the majority of that evening bouncing off the walls. I think it is like Dr. Drew said - she is a binge drinker/drug user, and that is very difficult to treat because people think they don't have a problem since they can go days without a drink.
And I don't believe for one second that she didn't do steroids when she was wrestling. I remember the giant meat-monster she was back then and unfortunately the picture I've seen of her lady bits has been burned onto my retinas. It is just more denial.
Mary seems like such a broken little girl. I'm rooting for her and that Seth dude - his son was so cute and sad) on the phone last week when he excitedly told his mother "He said he's not going to do bad things anymore!"
It is amazing how much better Jeff and Gitte look after they've been sober for a while. When he isn't hollering and moaning Jeff can actually be kind of charming.

Both Joanie and Brigitte admitted on the first episode that they were binge drinkers. Neither thought it was problem because they didn't binge drink on a regular basis.

Brigette's imitation of groaning Jeff was hilarious. It was sweet how they all piled on the bed together.

Over at TwoP somebody said Chyna has a history of showing up for TV/radio interviews completely blotto and embarassing herself (including an interview to promote Celebrity Rehab). Her family called up Howard Stern and asked him to please not have her on anymore because she won't stop humiliating herself on his show. It seems she's the only one who doesn't think she has a substance problem.
And there's no question in my mind she used steroids, but I'm sure she's conditioned to deny that, so I'm not surprised she didn't admit it the first time she was confronted about it in group.

Is Jeff's girlfriend pure poison or what? She's always so quick with the mindfuck on that man, it is really unsettling to watch their dynamic.

The answer is YES. She is horrifying. I think this show is riveting.

Vicky is an atrocious sea hag, yes. But I don't know...I get a feeling there's a little acting going on on her part. Her behavior seems so stilted or something. And I wonder why Jeff didn't go ballistic on her right away when she brought the booze into the rehab but instead waited to start screaming at her when over the phone when she left.
And I had to laugh at Barry Williams' ongoing lameness about his five-second appearance on The Surreal Life. I got a sense he was all proud when he walked up to Brigitte and said, "Oh, remember me? I was on a TV show with you. You threw me in the pool." Brigitte: "I'm sorry, I don't remember. I was too drunk." And while his complaint about Chyna acting like an ass at his "show" in Vegas was valid, he delivered it with such a level of condecension I couldn't in any way get on his side.
Is it too much to hope there's a Celebrity Rehab 2?

From what I understand, VH1 has already approached Dr. Drew about it, but I don't know if he's agreed to it or not.
