Right now, I'm listening to Willie Nelson's Stardust album. It's all standards, and he sings them rather well.

I just got turned on to Sufjan Stevens and can't stop listening to his Come On Feel the Illinoise cd. He is so incredible, what a songsmith. Anybody else feel the love for Sufjan? If not, do check him out. He's a sort of indie-folkie. Getting alot of buzz on college radio.

My daughter (9 yrs. old) and I cannot get enough of American Idiot. I don't know why, but every time I listen to it, I love it even more. All the songs are so integrated and relevant to each other and the overall theme of the album, which puts me in mind of The White Album, Sgt. Pepper, Dark Side of the Moon, and Sandinista among others.
So yeah, Green Day is getting heavy rotation around my house these days.
ETA: Why thank you ;D! My kids listen to whatever I listen to, whether it's Mozart, Grateful Dead, Primus, Tenacious D or anything in between. I just answer their questions as they come and they know that some language is inappropriate for kids to use. Viva la musica!

Ladymadonna, can I just say that you have the coolest kid ever! She has good taste in music already. American Idiot is on constant rotation in my car and in my house too.

I caught the tail end of a haunting song on NPR a couple of days ago and had a driveway moment...could not get out of the car until I knew who the artist was. Then I rushed out to get Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me." I'm in love.

Odditorium and the Warlords of Mars, by the Dandy Warhols. Not as catchy as Thirteen Tales... but maybe it'll grow on me.
Circo, by Circo. One of the best voices in Latino/Puerto Rican music today.

"I'm Only Sleeping"-the Beatles. Rubber Soul and Revolver are two of the best albums EVER made. RIP, John. ( chiqui, I love your avatar-that looks just like my cat Noel!)

I'm getting into Editors and Audiobullys and Clor, now that I'm listening to the U-Pop station on XM Radio a lot now.
But the ones I'm listening to obsessively these days is Flight of the Conchords. They're a comedic music duo from New Zealand who are subtle and sublimely hilarious, not to mention incredibly melodic, harmonic and catchy. One half of the duo is also doing solo serious work under the name Video Kid -- atmospheric, funky, ragga dub stuff that's really great.
