Mr. Sleepy was rather fond of T.a.T.U. a few years ago, until I explained to him that they weren't really lesbians. I think that took some of the mystique away for him.

I think T.a.T.U. were underrated. I'd buy their next CD in a minute. They did have a CD out last year. I've only heard two songs from it ("All About Us" and "Cosmos") but they're good.

T.a.T.u. are still together? How is this possible?

They booted their skeevy manager and the lesbian act. They hired a new manager who negotiated a deal with Universal Music International, which means 4 new albums including the one linked to above. [/useless information]

I love the lyrics to All the Things She Said. Such a great song.

My favorite song ever is the Rolling Stones' Under My Thumb. What a shitty message for a song to give, but I can't help it. What's worse is that I gave my now-fiance a REALLY hard time before I would agree to go out with him and now every time we go to our favorite hang-out he wants to play it on the jukebox. If I didn't love and adore him so damn much, I might be offended.

I absolutely LOVE '80s hair-metal power ballads.
I'll show myself out.
ETA: Actually I love '80s hair metal in general. Those bands knew how to have fun (drug use notwithstanding) and didn't take themselves too seriously. Most post-Nirvana rock (although I do like that as well) is just so broody and serious.

Billdozer, have you met my current favorite band The Darkness? The songs are great, they definitely don't take themselves too seriously, and the hair... the hair is huge.

There is nothing like 80's hair metal bands. I soooo remember Poison's first album coming out...My bud looks at the cover in the record store and goes: "Man those chicks are hot!" Turn over cover to back to check out the songs, and Gee the chicks have that 80's stubble all over their face. Sorry no pic. Brett Michaels Rocks! So of course, we both bought the album.

I loathe "Toxic." It's held up as an example of a perfect pop song, but I think it's unlistenable. In fact, Britney Spears' entire catalogue consists of sucky "pop."
