As do I. I even like the two solo Scott Stapp songs that I've heard on the radio. I shall join you on the Isle of Shame.

Oh, I'm with you on the Dixie Chicks, Sunnyhorse - I love 'em. I didn't realize how much I missed them until I saw them perform on the benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims/New Orleans.
I agree that "Wide Open Spaces" is disposable pop/country. "Fly" is better and I really like "Home" - and their live album is quite good. I am really looking forward to their next album because it seems that the further they get away from Nashville the more they start to do their own thing and the better they sound. And the song they did for the benefit ("I Hope") featured Robert Randolph, who is awesome. If they were working with people like that, it should be a good one.
You can also cast me in the lot that likes Journey and can't understand how Mariah Carey got so many Grammy noms for her latest album. Every time they show one of the videos on VH1 I want to jam something sharp in my ears - I want to keep my eyes because Wentworth Miller is pretty.
ETA: The Dixie Chicks made me think of Tobey Keith, whom I would like to beat about the head with a cast iron skillet. But I'm not entirely sure that is an uncommon urge.

I think my opinion about the Dixie Chicks was pretty unpopular. "Home" is admittedly their least pop country album but once you cover that damn "Landslide" song, you've completely lost me. That song makes ME want to beat myself over with a cast iron skillet. I like artists when they grow within their genres, but I don't think the Chicks will have much success outside of their genre. Because Natalie Maines' voice could shatter glass and not in a good way. It's very headache inducing if I'm not in the mood.
For the record, I like Toby Keith. Anytime you can sing "We'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way", you're pretty damn okay in my book. That song still makes me laugh so hard. I couldn't give a tiny rat's behind about the "rivalry" or whatev between the Dixie Chicks and Toby Keith. Plus some of his songs are overtly pop country and he doesn't seem to shy away from it. "I Should Have Been a Cowboy" is still a fab song, even years and years later.
Again, Eninem?? I don't get it. I never have and I never will. Discussing how you're going to kill your wife or mother or whatev is not "art". It's disturbing and disgusting and if you promise to go away like you say you are, I can guarantee I won't miss you.
Wow, this got really long.

This isn't really have an opinion, but I'm oddly mesmerized by the BEP My Humps video. I don't know whether I'm astonished that Fergie doesn't look awful or what, but I find it kind of hypnotizing.

I don't like Nirvana that much. I don't think they were that great. I'm not even sure what their songs are about. And I'd like to think I "get" Tori Amos.
I'll take that a step further. The Foo Fighters are a much better band.

My unpopular opinion? I like the Bee Gees. I think they're great singers and songwriters. "To Love Somebody" is one of the great all-time love songs, and "You Should Be Dancing" rocks as only disco sung by Australian dudes with falsetto voices can. And the rest of their catalog is really swell, too.

"Born to Be Alive" by Patrick Hernandez is the best song ever written. Especially the extended version with the violin solo. Stone me if you want...

I love the cheesiness that is Kenny Chesney (oh crap, I just typed "Jenny" - hee!). I love the fake Jimmy Buffett shit. I love the fake cowboy shit. I love, love, love it all. This should probably go in the True Confessions thread because I won't even admit this to my fiance. We constantly talk about how much country radio sucks and I just don't think he'd accept this flaw.
