But "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" is the best Christmas song EVARRRRR because you get to hear Brenda Lee sing, "Later we'll have some fuckin' pie and do some caroling." (OK, not really, but once someone's told you that you can never unhear it.) Mr. S. and I laugh like a couple of 12-year-olds whenever we hear it.

I can't hear any version of "The Little Drummer Boy" without hearing Chris Farley yell "WELL RUM PA PUM PUM!!!" in the back of my mind. Which version is this? Is it the one with the belly percussion?

That line is from the SNL sketch where Matt Foley (the "van down by the river" motivational speaker) dressed up as Santa.

Sirius played "One More Sleep" by Leona Lewis today and it's instantly my new favorite Christmas song. Damn that Simon Cowell.

The Jackson 5 version of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" makes me want to stab my eardrums.
Other non-favorites:
"Winter Wonderland" by Annie Lennox Any version of "Here Comes Santa Claus"; I for some reason have unreasonable hate for "SANTA CLAUS LANE" Any version of "Santa Baby" Any version of "This Christmas" "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole (yes, it's a classic--but it is SO overplayed) Elvis Christmas music
Special mention goes to the BARRY MANILOW version of "Baby It's Cold Outside." I heard that on the Christmas music station on DirecTV. It was...bad.

I have hated Away in a Manger and Jingle Bells since childhood. Maybe because they were considered the 'kids carols' and force-fed down my throat every year; I really don't know why. I've only recently been able to tolerate Silent Night, but could well do without it. My personal favourite is The Holy City sung by David Hobson

I'm late to the party, but I like "The Season's Upon Us" by the Dropkick Murphys. Hate Madonna's version of Santa Baby, Eartha Kitt owns that song! I really detest John Lennon. I can't stand him. He's one of mr. narm's biggest influences, and this is a Sticking Point. I think Happy Christmas is okay, but I remember back in the day on FT, someone pointed out that Yoko was "caterwauling" and I've never been able to unhear it, just as the poster advised. That poster may have been me. I always loathed the song due to Yoko's voice. I heard another version, and it's actually not a bad song.

Is it too early to bump the Christmas thread? I had a hard drive disaster this year, so I have to start from scratch on my Yuletide music collection. First to be added: Maybe This Christmas (Ron Sexsmith), Christmas Must Be Tonight (The Band), and Fairytale of New York. Along with Bing, Doris, Frank, Ella, and the Carpenters, naturally...

Has anyone found a radio station that has switched to all Christmas music yet?

Has anyone found a radio station that has switched to all Christmas music yet? KOST 103.5 in LA switches over this Thursday! I love christmas music, but even that feels a tad early to me. They've started playing christmas music earlier and earlier every year.
