I work in a store so I hear Christmas music every day for all of December. There's little to delight me, even though the playlist is rotated every year with some new ones. But yesterday there was a local jazz station playing classic blues and rnb versions of Christmas songs, and boy was it great!
And every year, to amuse myself, I change the words to a classic Christmas song to something very naughty. This year it was:
Alone in a manger, away in the dark,
The little Lord Jesus let out a huge fart.
The shepherds all smelled it and said "What the frark?"
And little Lord Jesus just lay there and larfed.

Our local radio station switched over to All Christmas on Thursday…very late for them. There used to be a similar format station in town and they would compete to be first to do the switch. The latter station was sold and the format changed.

I made a Christmas playlist on YouTube to only play my favorites. After decades of retail, I try to avoid my unfavorites ("Wonderful Christmastime", I'm looking on you!). I'll add "Christmas Wrapping" in memory of Mars Williams, the later saxophonist of The Waitresses (R.I.P.).

Maybe this makes me a Grinch, but today (December 1) is the first acceptable day to start playing Christmas music. Down with playing 24/7 holiday music before Thanksgiving!
