I adore Darlene Love! If you haven’t watched the documentary, “20 Feet From Stardom”, it is a must-see. She is featured prominently. What an undervalued and robbed artist.

My little sister told me about it, and I always made a point of watching since I knew she would be watching it too. Made the 1000 miles feel a little closer. I need to watch the documentary! |

I took a quick poll: everyone I asked had either never heard Xmas Hippo, Little Bocephus or both. My sisters apparently love the hippo song. I suppose my position is a bit extreme, but there it is.

Ok world of weird happenings and coinkydinky stuff... Bare with me, I was listening to Call the Midwife head writer Heidi Thomas on BBC Radio 4 Desert Island Discs this morning something I rarely do and one of her choices was Folk Singer Kate Rusby Who will sing me Lullabies beautiful voice and song I’d not heard before, so off to Spotify I go and shuffle a playlist and I’d been reading here chonies post and decided I’d never heard The Hippo song and then lo and behold I discover Kate Rusby does a cover version!! That’s mad Ted! |

I love how it got to be a bigger and more elaborate production every year, but Paul was WAY into from the beginning. The band always seemed to really enjoy themselves and Darlene is ALWAYS magnificent. Thank you! |

Went on a car trip recently and listened to Sufjan Stevens Christmas music. Some of these seemed kind of menacing to me, like there was a impending doom to them. |
