Spotify was advertising that they will have a "holiday" station starting this week or next, but I didn't catch the number.

SiriusXM on my DISH replaced the Love song channel with the Holly channel as of 11am today.
Way too early for me. I like my holiday tunes after turkey day.

I know it's too early, but I listened to Christmas music on my drive in and it just makes the drive in to work better! I sang along the entire way!!!

They are already repeating songs, and we've had KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles on since 9 AM. "Jingle Bell Rock" and that one "It's the Holiday Season (the Holiday Season)" (name?) are leading the pack of repeats. I requested Kelly Clarkson's upbeat, catchy Underneath the Tree around 9 AM. They finally played it around 4 PM. Great customer service there! Speaking of Miss Clarkson, did anyone buy her Holiday CD last year? And did you like it? We need a new one for work, and have bought the last few season's hits ( Rod Stewart, Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, Jim Brickman, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and 3 Various Artists ones combining traditional with pop / rock). Any recommendations among the new releases this season? Work Appropriate, so Twisted Sister does NOT count!

I'm not sure where to put this so here goes: Band Aid releases “Do they know it’s Christmas 2014” to raise money for Ebola relief efforts. My reaction was very meh, largely because I don’t know who the hell most of the people are singing – I recognize everyone over 40 and after that it’s just Chris Martin. Anyway, this video has been a huge topic at my NGO office, and I found a hilarious piece on The Underground that kind of hits on my mild irritation with these well-meaning but not quite adequate gestures: Bob Geldof epidemic could spread to West Africa. One of my favourite lines from that article:

forever1267, I like Kelly's version of "My Favorite Things," but other than that I found it pretty generic. It wasn't bad, just not stellar. I do like 100% Christmas- Hits for the Holidays. They have good jazzy versions of carols with people like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra among the featured singers.
I broke up giggling when I read the comments on that article. Favorite quote: "The difference between God and Geldof is that God doesn't wander round Africa thinking he's Geldof."

I heard a song on the radio today I'd never heard before. It was Brian McKnight's "There's No Place like Home for Christmas". And there's one line that goes: "Grandma's in the kitchen/ Aromas filling every room"
Is it very bad of me that my instant thought was 'Damn, Grandma must be awful gassy!'
*expects coal in stocking now...*

Bumping this up for the Season! Has any broadcast radio turned all Christmas yet?

Bumping this up for the Season! Has any broadcast radio turned all Christmas yet? None in Tucson, but I had a mini-marathon of "Christmas Baby, Please Come Home" on Friday. I made my receptionist listen to the Letterman performances from about 6 different years (still love the one with the Air Force choir) with me. I was bummed because my cable company insisted on upgrading my HD/DVR boxes and I was going to lose my recording of her last Letterman performance.
