KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles has started. They started last Thursday at 3pm. And of course, I've been listening. My one complaint so r, I've heard Taylor Swift's version of "Last Christmas" more than Wham's version. I need to start a letter writing campaign to KOST so that they institute a rule that they only play Wham's version just to make me happy. And also, while they're at it, they need to play more NKOTB Christmas song because "Funky Christmas" is a staple in my home. I like Taylor, but ye gods, her cover is terrible. That NKOTB Christmas album is an amazing mess.

Bumping this up because one radio station has turned all Christmas and another is going tomorrow at 5pm. I have already heard The Christmas Shoes. Why is this a great Merry Christmas song? And I hate I Wanna Hippopotamus for Christmas, so of course USPS commercials have this as their theme this year. Ho, Ho, Ho!

Does that top the "Christmas Shoes"?

We voluntarily started playing the Holiday CD's in our office. I've already heard "Feliz Navidad" twice. It's going to be a long season (still my favorite season, though, but that song..... UGH!!!!)
Michael Buble's and Tony Bennett's Christmas CD's can not come more highly recommended to me, though. Just love them, both!

One of my least favorites, along with Santa Baby, Feliz Navidad, anything by Elvis, This Christmas, etc. But, I unabashedly love Sir Paul's Wonderful Christmastime, so what do I know?

Christmas Baby, Please Come Home (Darlene Love) and Mary's Boy Child (Boney M) are on my ipod year round, but the first time I hear Boney M on the All Christmas station every year I still get teary eyed. Band Aid is not far behind.

Other favorites: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays (NSync); Thank God It's Christmas (Queen); My Only Wish (Britney), and of COURSE, Last Christmas(Wham).

I turned on the 24-hour Christmas music station one day last week and heard "Feliz Navidad" twice in about 2 hours, which made me turn off the station. Ugh. I don't mind the song, but I think it's best heard rarely.
I'm listening to Christmas music on YouTube right now, trying not to sing along too loudly, lest I annoy my co-workers. My first few: Fairytale of New York (problematic lyrics, but I still love it), Christmas Wrapping, and Do They Know It's Christmas. Then I switched to some Sinatra. I like his version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," but I prefer the Meet Me in St. Louis lyrics. It's "until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow," not "hang a shining star upon the highest bough."
I just listened to another favorite - I'll Be Home for Christmas. I guess I like my Christmas music on the dark/melancholy side.
