I was watching TV today and saw a lot of awesome videos today, so I thought it would be perfect to talk about them here!

For starters, I have to ask. Has anyone seen the new R.Kelly video trapped in the closet? Good god it is horrible. He literally acts out every word he sings in the song on the screen. Even worse, it has 5 parts with the possibility of 5 more coming. Stop the horror!!!!

Anyway, here is a random list of videos I will always love:
1.) Let Forever Be- Chemical Brothers
2.) Come into My World- Kylie Minogue
3.)Only You- Portishead
4.) Army of Me- Bjork
5.) Tell Me You're That Somebody- Aaliyah (when this song first came out, I swear I taped it and watched it an obscene amount of times to learn the dance routine!
6.) Weapon of Choice- Fatboy Slim (The one that had Christopher Walken dancing throughout a hotel. I mean, what more do you need? ;D

I just saw the video for Cool by Gwen Stefani and really liked it. My only complaint is that it kept cutting to each shot way too quickly. Sopihe Muller really missed a chance to show the beauty of the Tuscan-esque scenery during the flashbacks. Other than that, it was a good video.

And on a completely shallow note, the brown wig Gwen had on in the video for the flashbacks looked excellent. I swear she looked about 15 years younger without that blonde hair. Maybe that was the point of her wearing it, because it was a flashback, but still.

Why is BET now adding Hollaback Girl to its listing? It still sucks and to my eyes it's not any different than the original version.

I think Missy Elliott tends to have really good videos which are backed up with really catchy songs. I love the look of the "Lose Control" video. She rocks the hoodie!

Is it sad that I already know most of the dance routines from the video because i've seen it so much? I can't help it, I love the song and the video. When Missy says get yo back off the wall, you do it dammit!

I think Dave Meyers did well (except for the MissyHead) shooting this. I love the middle sequence, especially how the film looked dirty and adged. The other part of the video is fun to watch too. But Missy never misses with her singles and she always does some funky videos.

Weezer's Buddy Holly has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it. I was in awe of the fact that it seemed like the band was really on "Happy Days." It totally tripped me out!

Aaliyah's Are You That Somebody had awesome choreography. I wish I knew how to dance so I could memorize it and dazzle people with bad ass dancin' skillz!

VegasUSA, Let Forever Be is one of my all time favorite songs/videos. It's nice to see the love for it from someone else.

Hells yeah snacktastic! That video was the main reason I bought the Michel Gondry DVD that has all of the videos that he's directed, including "Let Forever Be".

Speaking of that DVD, I can't wait for the Mark Romanek DVD that is coming out in september for the Director's Label series (the same one the Gondry DVD is a part of). I like a lot of his music videos too! Maybe when I buy that, I can finally see "Closer" by NIN uncut. Has anyone ever seen it?

I wasn't feeling too well, laying on the couch and channel surfing and for some reason got sucked into the suckage of CMT.
Particularly, Shania Twain's new one with the double negative about quitting. It's one of those videos where everyone is dancing way too spiritedly for the music.
Another irritating one is Faith Hill's Mississipi Girl. I think it's her, it doesn't really look like her though with her curly brown hair now. The scenes where she is on stage rocking the mike with her long grandma chains on are more images that don't jive with the music.
