One of my favorite recent videos are Rachel Stevens' I Said Never Again (But Here We Are). It takes place in an art-deco jail and the colors are dark but glossy. Stevens just flats out sells it with her expressions. Plus, it makes dancing around in a jail fun.
I also really like Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey's "Where You Are." It was the best thing on the Here On Earth DVD. It actually worked with the song.
On the flipside, Jessica Simpson's "Sweetest Sin" is all kinds of porny. I feel like I stumbled something accidently and have to get out there. I just get embarassed watching it.

I remember when the making of that video was on Newlyweds. Joe Simpson was standing around watching the whole thing and having a great time. He made one of his most gross comments on that video shoot when he looked at Jess and Nick making out and said "Now she can do it til she's blue in the face." I just can't erase it from my brain.

Ewwww if my dad said something like that I'd kick him. Jesus.
Of course, my dad doesn't even want to know that my brothers and I cuss, so I have nothing to worry about. Heh.

Pure genius. They showed part of that video the day it premiered on MTV Live and it blew my mind. My mother once told me that if I fell on the treadmill my legs would be shredded by the blades in the motor (I know, WTF?) so I have a huge aversion to treadmills. Those guys are awesome. My contribution? Sam Roberts's Brother Down. I just find it unendingly hilarious, which probably says a lot about my psyche. And I once met Sam Roberts while I was getting hideously drunk with one my uni advisers. He was supersweet to both of us although he had to be on stage soon and we had both been clearly dipping into the Molson. Absolutley lovely guy.

I just saw the video for "The Darkest One" by the Tragically Hip on youtube, and I had forgotten how random it is. Trailer Park Boys! Cats! Don Cherry! Fried chicken! Sorry for the lateness, but: yeah! I just saw that one too! The kitties are the cutest. Kinda like in that "Afternoon Delight" video Will Farrell made.

.
I love that video (and Sam!), too, especially when they're staring at the drummer all hungry-like. And when the guitarist finishes up the last of the water and is all "What?". My friend met Sam Roberts, too, and I seethed with jealousy. I LOOOOOOVE him! I've never heard anything bad about him, and he's cute and makes amazing music.
ETA: The place where the Hip filmed Poets was a real home that was actually filled with cats. I saw it on some "Weird homes" show. Kitties everywhere! My allergies would kill me.
ETA again: The Darkest One video is so Canadian. They even have bottles of Bohs sitting on the table.

Not only do I love the OK GO video, but I was floored when they preformed it on the VMA's.
