No school like the old school. Since I've rediscovered this esoteric little gem I have been listening nonstop. For fans of hip hop this is one of the best hooks evah! Top Quality Magnum Opus

I've been listening to Last Splash by the Breeders. I actually think I love this album more now than I did when it came out.

The Breeders!! I'll never forget hearing "Cannonball" for the first time in the car radio with my boyfriend. Sure, we already loved the Pixies, but we were BLOWN AWAY by that intro.

I miss those awesome grunge bands and I'm so glad I discovered them. I later interviewed Mark Arm of Mudhoney and Donita Sparks of L7. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they both were. Yay nice grunge rock veterans!

I also remember where I was when I first heard that song! My friend played it for me at her house... good times. But I have to say, even songs that I had sort of forgotten about like "No Aloha" and "Invisible Man" sank into my mind more than I realized at the time.

I watched Janeane Garofalo's comedy special yesterday and it put me in a 90's mood. I put in my old DVD of "MTV's 25 Lamest" with commentary from her, Dennis Leary, Jon Stewart, and Chris Kattan with the epic moment of Vanilla Ice losing his shit. The best part was Chris Kattan yelling out "No Vanilla! Vanilla!" like that's his name. I saw Vanilla Ice on the Today show recently and did a double take. I guess he's got a show on cable somewhere and has managed to get his life in order after all the ridicule and pent up anger he carried. So, hey, good for him.

I've seen a bit of Vanilla's show, and it's actually pretty cool. It's about landscape architecture, and he clearly loves what he does now. It was pretty interesting to listen to him geek out about the botany and variation of different palm tree species. Not quite at the level of Mike Holmes but I totally respected him in a whole new way. And I'm not ashamed

I am currently listening to "The Judybats". Love'em, kind of miss them.

I'm all about Pearl Jam. Old, new...I don't care. I still love them. I really love seeing what Eddie has grown into, as well. I've been listening to that as well as PIL (is that more 80s? ) and Camper Van Beethoven. Wait, that may be more 80s too. *off to Google* Anyone remember Matthew Sweet? I was always waiting for him to become bigger. I loved him, back in 92. Sigh, that was a loooooong time ago, but seems like just a few years. I'm in heavy denial, I think.
