If there's one change I could have made to Captain Marvel, it's that this song would have been used instead of "Just A Girl." Probably would've blown the MPAA rating, but oh well...

This is not about a "good" 90s song, but it really got my nostalgia going hard for the 90s - a recent episode of the "Reply All" podcast called "The Case of the Missing Hit" is about a guy who remembers a song from the 90s, but cannot find anyone else who remembers it, and cannot find any recordings of it online. So the podcast tries to help him out by looking for the song - talking to music critics, radio station producers, a guy from the Barenaked Ladies and many more to see if anyone remembers the song. They get together some musicians and record a version of it (based entirely on what this guy remembers) so they have something to play for people to see if it jogs anyone's memory.
The ride is pretty great, and you'll get the song stuck in your head (it is VERY late 90s, and is like a mishmash of U2 and Barenaked Ladies), even though it is a silly thing. I won't spoil anything about whether or not they find the song or if it ever existed at all.
