For any Fiona Apple fans out there, she just came out with a new album (her first one since 2012) and it is AMAZING! Quintessential Fiona but sounds new and daring at the same time. I feel like the best music reveals different things upon multiple listenings and a true artist has complexities and nuances that aren't immediately apparent upon the first time you hear something. I'm way late on this, but I was poking around Mariachi Entertainment System's YT channel. I normally listen to their video game music covers, but they also did an absolutely lovely cover of Linger in tribute to Dolores O'Riordan. Highly recommended even if mariachi isn't normally your genre -- this group's arrangements are incredible. |

This from REM Glastonbury set ( 2003 I think) was just seen on The Highlights thing that’s on BBC at the mo. Watching and listening in these Covid times and it ruined me. It just hit all my emotional buttons and came out of nowhere. Everybody Hurts |

I’ve have the Gin Blossoms Found Out About You in my head all last week. Finally got it out and then last night they did a Facebook concert. All the songs are now back.

My old comedy-oriented rock band (sorta Zappa meets Tower of Power, but no horns) used to do a version of this, but I rewrote the lyrics (a la a dirty Weird Al) to “Found Out About Glue,” an ode to huffing model cement in my room, at the bus stop, on the playground.... |

I have just learned that Foo Fighters are about to release an album. Side A will be The Dee Gees performing all Bee Gees songs. Side B will be live performance FF's material. The Dee Gees version of You Should be Dancing is pretty darned awesome!

I don’t consider myself a huge fan of the FF but I do like them and I really like Dave Grohl. Bee Gees have been a lifelong favorite. It’s sad that Barry is the only remaining Bee Gee. |
