Wow, this thread is bringing back memories.
How's this for two ultimate-90s concerts? I saw Spin Doctors-Gin Blossoms-Cracker together, and Counting Crows-the Wallflowers.
I also loved all the R&B/hip hop that came out in the 90s, too. "Don't Walk Away" by Jade, "Tell Me" by Groove Theory, Jon B, Boyz II Men.
I still own my brown pair of Docs. They've moved through 4 different cities since college but for some reason I can't throw them out.

I started college in 1990, so early 90s stuff makes me think of some great memories of that particular time in my life. That was when Bjork came out with "Debut", which is still one of my favorite albums. I was big into Afghan Whigs and saw them live at Tipitina's in New Orleans (where I was going to uni). To this day, that AW show is the best live show I've ever seen. Awesome energy and emotion.
Early '90s is when I also started listening to Flaming Lips (and saw them live a few times). I like the stuff they did back then more than the current stuff, but that could be because I have a lot of memories of listening to them with friends and seeing the shows with friends. Plus, the day I turned 22, I had their song "When Yer Twenty Two" cued up on my CD player ready to play.
By the mid '90s, I was listening to stuff like the Melvins, Morphine, Revolting Cocks, Rollins Band and a lot of lot of local North Carolina bands (since I'd moved to NC at that point). I still pull out my Geezer Lake, Superchunk, Zen Frisbee and Squatweiller CDs.

I heard Mazzy Star's" Fade Into You" (natch, what else of theirs ever gets airplay) on the radio in the car tonight, and I was instantly transported back in time.

^ That is one of my favorite songs of all time. I will always stop and listen to it everytime it's on. The whole way through. Because I miss that song. I think I may dance to it at my wedding. Granted, I was only 6 years old when the 90s started, but this thread is making me re-live my childhood. And also making me REALLY want to watch My So Called Life for some reason.

OT, but this is on every morning at 5am and I've been recording it and watching it every day. It's awesome.
And "Fade Into You" is a great song...I actually listen to it quite often.

Me too!
And to think for many, many years I didn't know the name of the group who made it. It's a great, great song.

The Mazzy Star album (what's it called again??? I HAVE IT, why can't I remember?) is really good, there are only a couple of weird songs. "So Tonight That I Might See." Phew! "Into Dust" is a lovely, lovely song. It's a very autumn-esque album.

"5-String Serenade" makes me cringe and think of lovesick mix tapes. Don't get me wrong -- it's a great song. It's just the memories it stirs up.

Ooooooh good song.
"Ride it On" is also a good Mazzy Star song but I don't know what album it belongs to.

"Bells Ring" is another great Mazzy Star song. Though I believe that there's a video somewhere of my karoke debut of "Fade into You".
