TrafficChick & I are getting married on Monday. The celebrant is the father of two of my oldest friends. They are both folk singers, and in my depths of EVIL, I want to make them sing Paul Stookey's (Peter, Paul & Mary) "Wedding Song (There Is Love)". It is most definitely the folk singer's version of Pachelbel's Canon.

Aw, that's a sentimental favorite.
And... next Monday?! What should I wear?!?

Aw, that's a sentimental favorite. And... next Monday?! What should I wear?!? Well, I'm wearing my Duran Duran t-shirt from the recent Astronaut tour. It's the haute couture for the most fashionable virtual wedding guests.

See, I'm all down with the concert t-shirts. If I thought for an instant I could get away with it I'd be wearing my 1984 Sports Tour Huey Lewis & The News shirt.
Ah... those were the days.

Of course, I'm not mocking! Well, okay, I'm mocking anybody who would wear a concert t-shirt to a real life wedding reception (yes, I've seen it, and yes, I mocked them in the privacy of my head). I am not mocking the wearing a Duran Duran t-shirt. If I did, TTMR would razz me mercilessly, given my actions at the Detroit Duran Duran concert. (His review? "I've never been to a concert where the fans were so....loud.")
You guys, we totally have to have Concert T-Shirt Day at the 2008 GreecieCon.

Is there blue on the Huey Lewis shirt, Traffic? Or you could always claim you thought it was "Something old, something new, something Huey, something blue," right?

It's not weird. I want my first dance to be to "I Melt With You." Hopefully I will meet a very understanding, new-wave-lovin' kind of guy... Dude! I love that idea! Now, to talk The Boy into it ... I also love that idea with a ridiculous passion.

The shirt in question does indeed have blue sleeves, but it is so old and thinned from wear that it's barely a shirt anymore. Plus I'm afraid if she wore it with her new Baby-on-board boobs, it would fall apart from the strain.... ETA: that pesky apostrophe

I have no idea what my father/daughter song will be. My dad is not a good dancer (neither am I), and anything overly sentimental will make us both uncomfortable. I'd like "The Way You Look Tonight," but I think my sister used that. Any suggestions? My dad likes Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor and ... the Four Seasons. No real winners in any of their catalogues, unfortunately.
