Isn't he a chronic cheater? I know they have had some violent fights before over his cheating. I wonder what made it different this time.

It's probably because he is now sober. She probably put the the cheating in the past down to drugs and drink, a sober in his right mind Ozzy wouldn't cheat.
I actually know someone who felt this way. Of course he still cheated once he got sober. It actually broke my heart to see how stunned and devastated my friend was. She truly believed that he only cheated because he drank, and to her it didn't count, SMH.

I don't follow Sharon, so I have no idea what her damage is. I just know, or think I know that people will make excuses to work for them (been there myself) . My friend didn't think she was amazing or too beautiful to be cheated on. She just thought, her husband cheated because he had the drugs and alcohol ruling him and his decision were totally messed up because of that. Of course she figured that out much later. Like I said, I don't know much about the Osbornes but I totally think that Sharon thought "a sober Ozzy would not risk our life together for an affair" . |

I've actually been pretty worried about Ozzy lately since this year has been so horrible for famous Brits in their 60's and musicians in general. So maybe killing Ozzy's marriage will be enough for 2016 and he'll be otherwise unscathed.
I'm not in Sharon's head, so I don't know the whole story of why she stayed as long as she did. For all the folks that go 'EWW!!' at the idea of getting with the Ozzman, when she met him back in the early Black Sabbath days, he was actually pretty hot. Her dad managed Sabbath and when they kicked Ozzy out, she scooped him up and managed his solo career. I think she saw him as a personal project. He had this wounded woobie persona that probably drew her in. But more than that, he provided her with a way to prove to her dad that she was just as capable as he was in managing and promoting a rocker, plus she got to stick it to her old man since he had washed his hands of Ozzy and probably would have been happy to see Ozzy wind up face down in a gutter somewhere.
Sad fact is, Ozzy more than likely WOULD have wound up face down in a gutter and would have just been a footnote in rock history had it not been for Sharon taking him under her wing.
But as such, once she took him in hand, it probably made it that much harder for her to let go. I mean, we’ve probably all seen it (and sadly some have experienced it themselves) where a woman falls for the bad boy everyone warns them against- and then stays way longer than they should because to give up is to admit everybody else was right about that guy all along. It was probably doubly hard for her since not only had she taken him on as a mate, she’d taken him on as his manager.
She really did make him. He had the raw vocal talent and crazy onstage persona, but without her to guide and promote him, he wouldn’t have been able to do anything with that. She transformed him into the Prince of Darkness when he would have just been that guy Sabbath kicked out. Every crazy stunt he pulled from biting the head off of something to peeing on something else, she managed to turn into Shock Rock gold.
So again, he was drunk and violent, unreliable and unfaithful, but if she could prop him up onstage long enough to sell out a crowd and put out a hit album, she’d accomplished something major. The Ozzy Brand was her creation, and eventually the Osbourne’s Brand was hers. I think she was able to put up with a lot in order to keep her brand going and continue building their shared Rock Empire. And I’m sure she had genuine love and affection for him, esp. with kids involved.
Why she just now decided enough was enough. Who knows? Maybe the wounded woobie act finally lost its hold over her. Maybe the bullshit finally piled so high it covered up all the reasons she’d stayed.
I reckon I should feel even more worried for Ozzy because I don’t think he can manage himself very well without Sharon. (And that might be yet another reason she stayed, knowing he’d sink without her to hold him up) But if she can find a better, happier life for herself in the last part her days she’s gotta go for it.
Just take your vitamins, keep breathing, and lay off the booze and bat heads, Ozzy.
