I'm glad I found this thread! I just read thru it instead of studying for a test.
I like Rammstein too! I "discovered" them after finding out that they covered Depeche Mode's "Stripped" and then I looked on Youtube for other songs of theirs.
I lovelovelove The Smiths and Morrissey too. They, along with my beloved DM, and the Cure, were the soundtrack to my teenage angst.

I've got the Pet Shop Boys on rotation at the moment, to be followed by New Order and the Smiths. The music is the only part of my teenage years that I care to revisit!

I heard the first single last night and it's really good! I've only followed Martin's solo work, but I'm definitely looking forward to Dave's album when it comes out.
ETA: *waves* back to Sunbaby. ;D And speaking of FT, I totally started the Depeche Mode thread there!

The song is called Kingdom and you can listen to it over on Dave's myspace. It's also up on iTunes.

Blondie was my favorite band in high school (and beyond).
Deborah Harry is still my idol. Madonna wishes she was as cool as Debbie.

The boyfriend and I suffered our way through the TeenChoice Awards last week, and as we were watching the little girls in the crowd getting all excited over Hannah Montana, I couldn't help but feel sorry for them, because when I was their age, I was listening to Blondie. I was also listening to the BeeGees, but I really liked Blondie. Another artist I liked was Ebn-Ozn, famous for AEIOU. I still listen to that song a lot. I found the video recently and realized that the video is so much lighter and fluffier than the actual song. The song is much edgier than the video or even the title would have you believe. I can't remember if I mentioned Ultravox previously in this thread, but their Vienna album remains a favorite. They were excellent at crafting great atmosphere throughout the songs.
