It's not like Charles hadn't had his share of fun. It's that bullshit double standard. Charles can shag whatever he wants but his wife must be a pristine, innocent virgin. Blech. Hopefully, by the time William is married that nonsense will have been put to rest.

What I wonder the most is, had Di not been killed, how would the Princes be different today? I think she was a different kind of insane (as opposed to the Windsor-brand of insane) influence on them. I don't know if they'd be any brighter (Harry and the Nazi costume...). They might be warmer. Or they might be resentful of seeing their mother's chain of boyfriends in the press. I don't know. I think this is why she will forever remain fascinating to me. She was cut off right in the prime of her life. She had been divorced for not too long. She was finally coming into her own, breaking free of the Royal Family. We will never know what direction her life would have taken. That last summer, it did seem that she was very content to live out her life on yachts cavorting with playboys. Her photos were on the cover of all the tabloids frolicking in the water. But there was something else there, too. She was very cognizant that she was the mother of the future king. IMO, she would never have done anything to damage Will’s future.

I don't think she would have aged well.. too much sun damage.

Years ago my boss at the time (who had unbelievable connections) managed to attend Ascot. He actually had to order a custom-made morning suit. Anyhow, when he got back to Boston all we could ask him was whether he'd seen Lady Diana. Apparently he had seen her, but not met her. Now, keep in mind that this was one of the most blase guys in the world. We were all saying, "What did she look like? What was she wearing?" and he just said casually, "You could have posted a billboard on that nose of hers."
We were all a bit crest-fallen. That was definitely not what we wanted to hear. We did not bother to ask any more questions.

I remember seeing some British newspapers speculating on whether she had some slight tweaking to her nose, just after she married Charles. The papers showed some "before and afters" and it did look as if she had a bit of the bump taken out.
Does anyone remember that or think she did refine it just a touch?

BrokenOx -- The pic you labeled "Fairly early, based on the hairstyle" I think looks like she did around the time my boss saw her. Mind you, I think she looks fine, but this old boss of mine, well... A funny guy, but he was overweight and balding so I don't think he had much place criticizing Lady Di's nose!
(Notice how I carefully avoided saying "picking" on her nose? See? I know this place.)

I can't imagine she had a nose job. For the simple reason that I can't recall a time from her engagement, till her death, that she was out of the public eye long enough to have a nose job and recover, before reappearing bruise free.

Well, the British papers were sure of it and I guess there was a time very early in her marriage when she was not in the public eye as much. In the beginning, she wasn't calling the press to come photograph her as much as she did later.
I think her nose does look a bit bigger in the early pictures, but as BrokenOx said, lighting can makes things look different.
I also agree that her slightly larger nose did not detract from her beauty. It gave her personality, as well.
