I married the weekend her funeral was held. It was odd to be preparing for a wedding and have the tape delayed funeral playing in the background that Saturday but I and the wedding party couldn’t seem to turn off the television (the ladies — no idea what my husband and his friends were doing). My college roommate got married the same weekend. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding and stayed with another friend and I remember getting up at 4:30 and watching the funeral alone in my friend's house while she and her parents were still asleep. They must've thought I was a total weirdo, LOL. |

OMG - my best friend also got married on 8/31. Her aunt is British and I happened to be the one who told her. We were all hanging out in the bride's room the night before the wedding and Jane (the aunt) called and I happened to pick up the phone and I said "Are you watching the news? It appears that Diana and Dodi Fayed have been killed in a car accident" and Jane's like "No". Not screaming hysterical "NOOO!" but a very matter of fact "No. Not possible." Jane and her family flew back to London the second the wedding was over, and went to BP to lay flowers, and TRF were doing a walkabout and the Queen Mother actually stopped to speak to Jane. Crazy.
