I watched about half before I went to bed, and the musical is so weird. The only thing I could think during that strange James Hewitt number was oh my God, most of these people are still alive. I was cringing on William and Harry's behalf.

It was awful, tasteless but I’m sorry and I’m going to hell in a handbag because I loved it!
I think I watched it as if it was a musical episode as part The Crown series.
I mean Barbara Cartland!
Its like the Thrilla in Manila but with Diana and Camilla song was a hoot!
And the Feckity Feckity Feck it eff you revenge dress song with Diana andd Paul Burrell was my cheesewinner!

My initial reaction to this was it actually should have been "Diana, the Opera" so the overly dramatic "Chess" fits well in that headcanon. (The original concept album, not the Broadway cast album.) |

So, Anthropologie is using a very early-Dianaesque model to show clothes and has her in faux Diana country sweaters and boots type of clothes. The model looks very much like Emma Corrin. Interesting. I just never thought I'd see that hairstyle again on a current model. At least they went with the early hair (which I think was a take on the Dorothy Hamill) and not the late 90s soccer mom pouf. Diana model. Another. One more. |

Diana™ is really having a resurgence. Gen Z really seems to like very early 80s style, but not New Wave 80s, more like original Ralph Lauren 80s, and Diana was an icon of that look. The country sweaters, the mom jeans, heavily layered haircuts, costume jewelry, I see all of that on younger people walking around (I'm a Millenial so The Duchess of Cambridge's borderline overly polished style is more my speed). That coupled with the popularity of The Crown means her early look is making a huge comeback. That Anthropologie model looks exactly like her/Emma Corrin.

I love a good bob (I wear one myself, albeit curly), but that Diana take just looks stupid, as did her inspiration’s hair back in the day. |
