Agreed. Our family will adopt the hybrid style of sometimes streaming, sometimes going to the theatre from now on. Dune is something we will definitely see in theatre. Ours will too. For films like Star Wars, Toy Story, Titanic and Frozen I crave the cimima experience. My oldest wants to see The Jungle Cruise when it is free on Disney +. I asked if she minded that we couldn't go to the cinema. My kid replied that in this case it was better to see this film at home because parts could be skipped, or it could be switched off if it was "too much."

Damn I thought Shang Chi would get the same treatment because Simu Liu isn’t a big name and you know, Hollywood doesn’t really care about Asians, but wow I can’t watch it til October for streaming since it’s a theater only release for now. In the middle of delta! So confused about Disney’s logic!
ETA: despite the whole “experiment” comment, I’m realizing Disney is just betting on China’s money and feel more confident about that than Scarlett.
