Getting back to Gronk: his house was robbed while he was away in Minneapolis. Dude is not having a good year so far. Well, maybe Gronk's not such a genius afterall. Foxboro is a small town. Pretty much the only crime is acquaintances and/or relatives breaking into your house when you are known to be not home. Super Bowl weekend would have been a good time to hire a house sitter. |

Today is the Eagles parade. I know many people taking the day off work and heading into the city for the festivities. Godspeed, Philly. (Translation: Fans, please do not behave like effing animals and bring shame to the city.)

(Translation: Fans, please do not behave like effing animals and bring shame to the city.) They closed our office (on the parade route) so I took the opportunity to skip the train ride and stay home. I don't think I regret it. Crowds are so much less my thing as I get older and despite my proximity to Philly, I've never been an Eagles fan so the historic sentiment isn't there for me. The city is still standing and shows no sign that anything huge went on yesterday from what I saw. I'm sure Fox News will be reporting a riot, like they did on the night they won, but by Philly standards, people were very well-behaved, from what I understand. Yes, they were climbing the light poles and crowd surfing off awnings, but there's way more violence in the cheap seats of any random Eagles/Phillies games than there was in these 2 huge gatherings. I was kinda annoyed at the coverage on all the late night shows, they were all focusing on the very few incidents, when it was really more celebratory. One of the local news stations caught a really cool moment during the live coverage where a couple of students from the University of the Arts opened their 5th floor window and played the Eagles fight song on their trumpets and tubas and the crowd of thousands on the street below started singing along. That was fun to watch. |

I know, I hate the coverage, too. People are more than happy to perpetuate the stereotype of the violent Philly sports fan. Sadly, though, Philly fans HAVE created a bad rep for themselves -- it didn't come out of nowhere. BUT yesterday was great! From what I've seen from my friends on social, it was very tame (whew!).

The parade was amazing. So glad I flew in from the west coast to attend. (Last minute decision). A day of happiness I will never forget. I am still on a Super Bowl high.
I watch the game with about 50 people. 49 were routing for the Patriots. I was the only one overjoyed at the end. I had to go back home and be with ones that were ecstatic like me. The parade did not disappoint.
