I have this horrible feeling I'll be the only person posting in this thread. Other than RealGM, is there a busy NBA internet forum? And I just can't deal with with RealGM other than for picking up on the occasional trade rumour, because 98% of the posters are so annoying it makes me want to stab myself in the eye.
Anyway, BIG Raptors fan here. And as a Raptors fan, I am inherently a pessimist, and have been swiftly selling off all of our season tickets that we aren't planning to use just in case the team takes a nosedive and no one wants my tickets in a couple of months.

I am, unfortunately, a Celtics fan. One who is too young to remember the glory days of the Bird/McHale/Parrish era. I went to my first game right before Bird retired.
About the only joy I get from basketball these days is when the Lakers lose. The whole Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal situations were hilarious for me.

I want to like Basketball, but as the only local team I had growing up was The Washington Bullets coached by Wes Unseld (a man who should never have coached a team), and now it's the The Trailblazers I'm apathetic on the whole league.

I admit I only generally start caring about the NBA around finals. I am a fan of the Suns, and I live on the east coast, so their games are always too late to watch.
That said, after the unbelievable hosing of the Suns that happened in the last finals, I'm far less interested. I was so fucking furious. And I hate the Spurs to an irrational degree.

I'm not really much of a basketball fan until the playoffs, but I had more to look forward to this season. Unfortunately it looks like the Cavs aren't going to do that well this year. Hopefully, they'll still make it to the playoffs, but LeBron can't do it by himself.

Oh my, Binky and Rosin , we are on the same page!
I'm wondering why no one, such as Charles Barkely, is talking about how the Spurs skated by the help of a rouge ref, who was on the take by the mob.
The Suns had that series, but too many fouls were called, and Stern booted key Suns players because they stepped off the bench.
Re: Lakers
I too enjoy watching them play, purely for them to lose. I was pro-Shaq during the whole Kobe/Shaq debate. I see I was right.
Kobe is useless, if he doesn't have a bruit in the paint. Not to say Shaq is a bruit, but in the beginning his mere size made it virtually impossible to get around that guy.
Personally, I love the drama queen that is Kobe. He makes it interesting. I love his theatrics more than I love watching him play.
He never disappoints, because every now and then you get a sour look. Sometimes, he will yell at his team mates (Luke Walton) on the court, or he will call them out (Andrew Bynum). Love it! You just know his team mates hate his ass.
By the way, I am a Clipper and a Kings fan. I am a King's fan, because at the time they were the only ones whipping the Lakers butt. Well, they were a serious threat. I wish something came be done to recreate the glory.
I'm a Clipper fan, because they have been the underdogs for some long. Yet, they are a good team, and they pretty much play, when they have a game.

While not entirely surprising, it was rather of the Bulls to fire Scott Skiles on Christmas Eve. While he deserves some of the responsibility for the Bulls underachieving this year, the players and TPTB also bear some of the blame, IMHO.

I heard on the radio the Bulls owner called Skiles into the office and handed him a $7 million cashier check and told him his services were no longer needed. That's cold.

Heck, then treat me cold, with that cold stack of cash.
It's a pity that he appears to be taking the brunt of the team's failure, but he has to know that there was a change a comin'. If management wasn't talking to him about trades, the man had to know the axe was a fallin' on his head.
